The club will be somewhat unrecogisable without him. Most of my best memories of football include Gerrard, most of my best years supporting the club include Gerrard. God I'm gonna miss him.

I was at the match today and credit due to the Crystal Palace fans who gave him a great reception, singing " there is only one Steven Gerrard" fair play

I fell asleep just before kick off, still knackerred from my hols.

Good to hear he had a good send off even if we did play ****e.

Nice to hear Stevie in his MOTD interview acknowledge the Rafa team of about 2007-2009 was the best team he played in. That spine - Reina, Carragher, Skrtel or Agger, Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard, Torres - we'd kill for a spine anywhere near as strong as that now.
That's right, bring the bloody thread down...

I try not to think about what we had.. And what we threw away. Luckily I care a lot less these days.

          Steven Gerrard, phenomenon.

The significance of this is only just hitting me now. To be honest I think everyone is underestimating the significance because clarity is being obscured by sentimental feelings.

Admittedly Stevie hasn't played like a world class star this season but he is a world class star. The last one we had.

We now have a squad with zero world class stars.

We might be looking back at this moment in a few years and thinking this was the moment that the mighty reds stopped being mighty.

Some may make weak attempts at claiming Coutinho or some other player in the squad is world class but as much as I love Coutinho and as good as one or two others are they aren't world class.

They cannot stand face to face with a Gerrard or Suarez or Alonso or Messi or Ronaldo etc and say "I am your equal".

This is an extremely sad moment in the history of Liverpool not because of Gerrard leaving but because of what he is leaving behind.

I had to have a moment to myself yesterday when Sky played this at the end.

Yup terrible send off unfortunately but fits in with the way the season has gone. Why the **** was he played as a DM again? He is desperate there & there is a gaping whole infront of the CB's. We clearly weren't arsed about this game fro the off, might aswell stick him in an attacking role and away from the position in which he has struggling in all season.

                          The guys a ****ing hero.

Terrible that we couldn't put on more of a performance for him. He's been responsible for the best football moments I've seen as an adult.

Irreplaceable. Even in a ****e season he's scored more goals recently than most. He deserved to be part of a functioning squad starting the odd game canoeing in others as he played out his career.

You don't know what til it's gone.

I was actually happy he was able to project a smile and acceptance yesterday following the result - even making a joke to the media regarding his own performance.
The playing/management staff really let the occasion down, but I suspect it wouldn't have been terribly different even if all the Gerrard stuff wasn't happening.

Thank God for Stevie. ( and thank God for Rafa! too. )

Because he deserved at the very least that one Gigantic Trophy in his career, and i'm so glad he got it.

Saw a tweet yesterday which summed it up. Steven Gerrard, let down by his teammates since 2007.
