Yup, I remember one in the second half especially. It's to be expected though given his injuries over the last year.

I fully agree, but might it also be a fear of getting red-carded (and thus suspended) for his 'blockbuster' tackles when we already without Suarez and Lucas?Originally posted by Shaggy View PostYep I noticed that. Not sure he "bottled" them but he definitely opted out of a couple of potential blockbuster tackles last night.

I must have gone for a beer at that pointOriginally posted by Reece View PostI remember him winning an early tackle yesterday where he slid in and put the ball out of play.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. He did. For me it's the really big tackles he used to love that he's mainly avoiding. He swerved one about a minute after coming on in his first game back and it's been the same since, but he still puts his foot in and as you say won a slide tackle last night. Just the blockbusters....remember that tackle on Phil Neville in a derby at Anfield a few years ago?!Originally posted by Reece View PostI remember him winning an early tackle yesterday where he slid in and put the ball out of play.

Controversial claim but my guess is that if he stays on his feet and opts for interceptions over tackles he'll both be a better player and stay fitter at this stage of his career."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
