What do they knowOriginally posted by Daniel 7 View PostTakes a lot of pelters from the Guardian Ingerlund fans.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Weird.....thought he was next to anonymous the longer the game went on.
Fine ball in for Carroll's opener, but never displayed anything close to what he used to be capable of.
Frequently gave the ball away, looking for the direct far too often, and struggled to get around the pitch in the second half."I will make the boys feel your support"

Hodgson doesn't believe in keeping the ball so it wouldn't have helped.Originally posted by McDermotX View PostWeird.....thought he was next to anonymous the longer the game went on.

Thought he was one of the worst players on the pitch. Hardly leading by example.Originally posted by Deano View PostI thought he looked decking knackered, and had lost a yard of pace
There was one moment when IbraSonofHabitch was in our half and moving goalwards and Gerrard was the closest Englan player to him - he made no attempt to close him down or tackle or anything, just content to jog alongside. A real anathema to how he performs for us.

Each to their own. I think it's more to do with the shape Roy has, and as such, it restricts Gerrard's (and the teams) movement. I'd argue Roy wants them to stand off and not commit in case they lose that shape. It's noticeable when we're defending to see two banks of four in line with the 18 yard line, so it's almost as if Roy *gives* the opposition the flanks and therefore we won't press out.Originally posted by Sconniee2 View PostThought he was one of the worst players on the pitch. Gerrard has made England tick from a deeper role and very rarely got forward, bar the last chance England had in the 90th minute; compare it to Parker who just runs around like a mad man, uncomposed and offers little in terms of vision, it's not hard to see why he's getting the plaudits. I think he's been excellent and one of England's best performers, in my obviously biased opinion.Last edited by Muddled; 16-06-12, 08:47 PM.
