Seen his post match interview, he was stupid, but fair ****s to him, for standing up and taking ownership of that.

It was a bad day at the office, lets see how the team responds

      Inexcusable.
The apology afterwards makes no difference whatsoever.

So 'frustrated' that he isn't getting picked to start that he does something that costs himself 3 of his remaining games.

If we win the 3 games he misses why should Rodgers pick him again once available?
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

The tackle itself was inexcusable, but the apology was good thing. It helps people realise that he knows he ****ed up.

We all **** up, all the time. It takes a person of good character to come out and admit their failings.

I think that given we have 11 games left. He will miss 3 so we have 8 games of Gerrard left. Its a good chance he will start a few of those.

you are making the assumption that we will beat Blackburn in the FA Cup and go on and beat Villa in the semi final as well....... fingers crossed you are right.

I think the problem will be the system though. If Brendan sticks with the current system then I don't think Gerrard can play in a midfield 2 with Henderson. If Brendan changes back to a diamond formation, then I don't think we will see Gerrard act as the sitting midfielder unless Lucas is again unavailable. Gerrard may start in place of Joe Allen - alongside Henderon with Lucas sitting - but in reality it will be hard to Brendan to change a winning team - especially as every game is likely to be a must-win for the rest of the season.

Stevie might need to wait for Joe Allen / Lucas / Henderson to get a knock or suspension before he gets back in.

What a sub to have on the bench though........assuming he doesnt get sent off as soon as he comes on.

Yeah I am, although there is a good chance of it happening.

But imagine we only had him for 6 more games. Like his form or not, players like him need to be bleed dry for experience and knowledge. TBH I was most disappointed yesterday that he didn't come on and steady things up.

I think he will need to be patient and come off the bench. Maybe he would have started the Blackburn game. But thats probably it at the moment. If 4th goes, Id expect him to start a few at the end of the season.

And his subsequent actions of going full blown Mario and shooting whenever he got the ball to make up for it was just as bad. You can excuse the mistake but not the catastrophic decision making that subsequently followed.

Yeah Rodgers alluded to that in his PM interview

Shocking how passive we were first half

To be fair to him I would have been frustrated watching that ****e from the bench first half

For a game that was so hyped up we lacked passion, belief and tempo

I still dont believe United did a number on us, we did it to ourselves

People can make excuses / reasons behind it but if you dont put the effort in you dont get much out of it

I am a little exasperated by some of the reasons trotted out (and I am not pointing the finger at you on this). Some saying Sterling isnt suited to being out on the wing, well you are not going to be suited if you have the touch of a rocking horse and dont ****ing try. How many times did he try to go past Blind? I mean Blind is hardly an Olympic sprinter in fact I'd say I've seen some of them that do the Olympic Walking would give him a run for his money but Sterling completely bottled it and wouldnt try

Seriously I am more concerned with our application and attitude than the brilliant tactics United did or didnt employ

I think out of all the player I watched for us yesterday only Skrtel and Sakho did anywhere near enough, the rest were absolutely not up for it and that more than Gerrards misdemeanor is more inexcusable. You have to want it against any Premier League opposition nevermind Man United

Apparantly the mirror gave him 4/10

                            Same as Lallana and Moreno.

It makes me wonder why more players don't steam into tackles that, especially against your biggest rivals.

                              ****ing embarrassing from our lot.

Some of the 50-50 tackles I saw our players pull out of was frankly embarrassing.
