Yeah I was assuming Klopp might be open to Stevie as some kind of junior coach/ambassador, maybe he even means he's open to Stevie popping in for a cup of tea?. Lawro suggesting we need him as a player is not in any way based on our form this season, there is not a single argument for it. I'd also say having Gerrard as a first team coach could be potentially disruptive given his reputation (club legend, only trophy he didn't win was the league). Why rock the boat unnecessarily?

It would in a way, but you could argue that no-one deserves one more. Not that those who "deserve" medals always get them of course.

Chances are that none of our players will be getting the medal, and those chances are even less if we play Gerrard this season, sub appearances or not.

Ultimately though, I agree with this entirely. If I was him I'd be looking for a link up with Rafa at Newcastle to lead them to the Championship title, then a coaching role from next Summer.

If I was in charge of us, I'd be offering him a playing role for the U-23s and put him in charge of managing the U-18s to learn his trade as a coach and inspire the youngsters.

Man U did it with Robson. I think it wont harm us to sign him as a coach, and register him as a player. You never know if we will get an injury crisis. Remember our squad is really young. An old head could be useful to have around, and a stark reminder of how not to play a backpass
