It's a difficult one obviously people are saying he needs to get PL experience, but I would say that managing the expectations and pressures at Rangers is closer to the expectations and pressures at Villa. Obviously the SPL is an inferior league to the PL but he has opportunities to win trophies and manage a side in Europe, and if he could get Rangers to hold their own in Europe that would be an achievement in itself. Villa are currently in a relegation battle but with a little work are capable of being one of the mid table teams and competing for Europe, but the reality is it's probably the Europa conference or whatever it's called maybe if they are lucky Europa league. But I would have thought a couple more years of success at Rangers would have been the better option. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He would have to do a Rodgers at Leicester to be in the running for the Liverpool role in 2024 I imagine - there and thereabouts for the top 5/6, ideally with a cup run/win or two.
I initially thought he should stay at Rangers as well, but the step up to Liverpool would be massive - and maybe he knows that Klopp is leaving so he doesn't have the time to wait for another role

It would be a remarkable job to get Villa into the top 6 in the next 2-3 years I just don't see it as realistic. I know the PL is stronger than the SPL but I feel the step up from Rangers to Liverpool or Villa to Liverpool aren't that different.Originally posted by Sus View PostHe would have to do a Rodgers at Leicester to be in the running for the Liverpool role in 2024 I imagine - there and thereabouts for the top 5/6, ideally with a cup run/win or two.

2 and a half years takes him to summer 2024, doesn't Klopp's contract expire then?Originally posted by Shaggy View Post
