Does anyone feel lukewarm about Rafa?
Nope I love the man and am extremely happy to hear his wife and children back in Liverpool. He will always be a well liked guy in the city.

Hope he gets the Blackburn job, he could do very well there. Wouldn't really want him back managing us (doesn't mean I want Roy there either).

Rafa Benitez's Inter Milan 'sacking' to clear way for Blackburn manager talks

Rafa Benitez could sit down for talks with Blackburn officials over their vacant managerial post before Christmas, with reports in Italy suggesting his agent is already negotiating a payoff ahead of his sacking by Inter Milan this week.

Widespread reports in the Italian media suggest the only thing standing between Benitez and his P45 at the San Siro is a severance package - which would be the former Liverpool boss' second in just six months.

Inter are said to be holding off on announcing the Spaniard's departure until they have settled on a mutually agreeable sum.

However, former AC Milan coach Leonardo is already thought to have been approached to become Benitez's replacement before the January transfer window opens.

Press speculation earlier this week had predicted such a move from Inter president Massimo Moratti, who was said to have been left seething by an outburst from Benitez after last week's World Club Cup victory.

Benitez demanded either the backing of the Nerazzurri chief in making new signings, or for the Italian to sack him if he didn't believe in 'the project'.

The ex-Reds manager left England for Serie A in the summer but still has a home in this country, where he has returned for the Christmas break.

And it is thought he would be open to a Premier League return - prompting the firm links with ambitious Rovers.

The Lancashire outfit's new owners want a high-profile managerial appointment to guide them into the top five, and Ewood Park officials are said to have already made contact with Benitez's representatives to sound out his interest in discussing the terms of the job.

Benitez admitted this week that his position is under scrutiny, saying: 'I don’t exactly know what the situation is.

'The president has to take a decision on the line he wants to follow. I am not the boss of my future.

'As long as I am here, I will work to the maximum. But they haven’t sacked me and I am very surprised by the reports.'

Moratti also refused to comment on the situation when approached by journalists in Milan.

He said simply: 'Calm down, I won’t talk. I don’t want any arguments with anyone.'

Surely he would never entertain going to such a **** club ...I'd be mortified if he went there.

It would be a mad move for him - it would set back his career by years. Maybe the family want to live in the north west but surely there must be better jobs even if he had to wait a few months for anything good to become available. It's not like he's short of cash to tide him over.

The only fear I have is his football obsessiveness. He's a football loon and workaholic, we know that, and I worry he'll take any Prem job in the north west to satisfy his addiction.

Surely not though. Please God NO!

Couldn't he help Dario Gradi? The man is about 80 now.

Don't think he's that desperate despite being a footbalaholic. He always goes on and on about not having enough money to spend to get his 1st choice players and with the alleged 5million that Fat Sam was offered to take Blackburn to 5th or 6th position that'd be a bit too much for Rafa's liking too

Allardyce said: “I had not really met the new owners and only had little dialogue with them. Somebody somewhere has obviously said something derogatory to get me out of this job.

“I want to find that out and why. If I can do I will, if I can’t I will move on.

“Someone somewhere has said something just prior to the takeover or just after. Then they ring up and say your services are no longer wanted

It's odd that he jumps to that conclusion. Has he not considered other possibilities? Apart from the obvious one - he's a buffoon who promotes terrible football - there are plenty of other things that could have caused it.

This sort of assumption is a window into the mind of the person making it - it's a projection of the self. The fact he immediately imagines he has been undone by a scheming backbiter pouring poison into someone's ear screams to me that he himself is a scheming backbiter who pours poison into people's ears.
