After the last debacle, I don't think players should have any say managerial appointments.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm not sure he did though, if things were being done properly then i believe he'd rather concentrate on football matters, he wanted control because the people he had to trust with that control were doing a ****e job. iho. imo.Originally posted by frank the tank View Postif it was true that rafa got 16m from LFC (I suspect that it was probably closer to 4 or 5) then there is no way that they would pay him top whack.....he'd probably have to take a big pay cut to come back or the club would just look stupid..... but i reckon he would still jump at it if he could........
the other big obstacle would be the total control thing...... would rafa work under commoli??? i'm not so sure, he seemed to make it his mission to get total fergie-esque control at anfield first time round.....how would rafa feel with not having a say in the young players we bring in for example..........although to be honest, maybe when he left anfield in the summer, he reflected that he bit off more than he could chew......rafa was sucessful when he just had the 1st team to worry about.........perhaps he would recognise this.....
final obstacle would be that he would have to bomb out carragher and gerrard......
i'd take rafa back in a heartbeat though to be honest....

he doesnt need the money after 2 substantial pay offs so i dont think a big money contract is the issue right now.
We take him on now and say the job is his permanently if he can get us into the top 4 by the end of the season.
There's no way in gods earth that roy will get us into the top 4. With torres not firing we will struggle to finish top half.
Rafa will get torres firing again and will also raise the game of players like kuyt. If we have those two and gerrard firing again then anythings possible.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

If Rafa took a short term until the end of the season contract, that would be an excellent solution - most of the players are still his and those that aren't he'd be able to get a lot more out of than RoyOriginally posted by el matador View Posthe doesnt need the money after 2 substantial pay offs so i dont think a big money contract is the issue right now.

what nesv want is time.
time to rebuild the team, time to make a decision on the stadium, time to optimise the off field commercial revenues.
Roy hodgson has given them time that another top manager wouldnt. A manager like rafa would demand signings that would make the team competitive immediately. He would also have the fans backing and that makes saying no all the more difficult.
Also from an owners perspective nobody likes being held hostage and rafa with his support from the fans would be the poisoned chalice. Too much power, too many issues.
But if rafa can provide assurances that he will tow the line then its an obvious choice.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

, Just watched the interview on LFC tv (recorded again last night). Time is the key for these guys but they also need a quick hit on the field if we are to maintain the current squad.
Kenny would bring a freshness and a short term answer at least until NESV get there head around things and I would say he must be odds on to take the reigns from Roy.
Rafa brings a lot of baggage to the party as you said above and as much as I would love to see him back I don't think he's the type of manager to tow the line.
We need a CEO asap to come in and take control of things otherwise I can see us stuck with uncle Roy for the foreseeable future.

Someone has just texted my mate who just Skyped me to tell me to post here so Nigel could tweet it that apparently Rafa is considering going to the garden centre today.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
