I'd be gutted if he ended up at a club like Stoke. He deserves much, much better.

I guess for all the stick he got lately, he probably thinks he needs to do something significant but not at a high pressure club. Maybe it's what he's thinking who knows.

Where's the potential to improve there though? Stoke are already overachieving.

If he wants a "project" he'd be better off picking an underachieving club with lots of unfulfilled potential. (This actually sounds like Liverpool )

Anyway it would be a travesty if Stoke sacked Tony Pulis. The guy's done an excellent job there.

Surely this story is just nonsense anyway.

Stoke fans are majorly on Pulis' case. He has done well but he's reached a point now where he can't develop them any more. Tried signing players like Tuncay, Gudjohnsen, never dared use them. Pure hoofball all the time. Leaves out players like Etherington, Fuller etc in favour of workhorses like Whitehead and the abject Walters.

But yeah it's nonsense, no way would a manager as decorated as Rafa go to ****ing Stoke

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis says building a team at his club is a bit like running a rescue centre for stray animals. 'We don't deal at Crufts," he says. "We deal with Battersea Dogs Home."

Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has revealed that he has received five jobs offers since he left Inter, but is determined to take his time over his next move, and would welcome the opportunity to return to the dugout at Anfield in the future.

Asked about opportunities that had arisen since he has left Inter, the Spanish coach said: "There have been five offers, two teams and three teams", Benitez told Gol TV.

"Of course, they all come out of Europe and in some cases out of England. We have been in Germany, Turkey and a couple of other solutions, but I think now is the time to be quiet, to reconsider, to look at the good or bad things we do and try to correct them to be prepared for the next challenge."

And Benitez readily admitted that he would return to coach Liverpool again in the future, having been extremely proud to manage the English giants.

"I am proud to have been at Liverpool and I would return in the future. The future may be in a year or five years, I do not know. Liverpool is my home and the people treated me very well. I have a very good relationship with Liverpool and the fans. It [returning] would be an honour, but at the right time."
