Completely different. A Liverpool fan defending a Liverpool manager's record at Liverpool FC is different to other people getting upset over others' feelings about the manager of another team
He's gone, he's there, he's not our manager any more. If you or others want to stick the boot in to him now - that's absolutely fine by me. For whatever reason it doesn't appear to be fine for me and whoever else to wish the guy luck in peace, and we have our support questioned and called names LOL.

I know you haven't. I haven't been called names personally (directly) either, but having my/our support called into question, and moreover being labelled 'Chelsea cheerleaders'
is playground stuff - reductive and not necessary.

Rafa's done more than enough to have earned a giant slab of goodwill and Chelsea? Well who gives a ****. It's not like we've a long running rivalry. 8 years or do and we've been ****ing bollocks for the last 3 of those. If Rafa doing well there means Ferguson getting ****ed like the rabbit then it's aaaaaaawl good.
Chelsea... They're ****ing nothing to me. Just today's version of Forest (for the youngsters out there we didn't like them either).A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I hate this tribal ****e. The idea that our brains are so small that we can't manage the complexities of liking Rafa but not liking Chelsea. The idea that liking someone who works for a rival club means we're not proper supporters of our own club. The idea that fans who support a different club are "scum of the earth".
My nephew is a Chelsea fan. He's not scum. But then he knows better than to generalise and stereotype. Maybe it's because his dad is a Liverpool fan, I dunno..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
