They defended (well) all half in the 2nd and tried to play on the counter. Can't say it worked well until the goal now.

According to the Mail, Rafa is in contention for the Spurs job. He should be a shoo-in.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is satisfied the English of Southampton’s Mauricio Pochettino is good enough for him to be considered a candidate to be the club’s next manager.
And Levy thinks Pochettino’s pleasing style of football would be perfect for White Hart Lane.
Levy was concerned that Pochettino uses a translator for television interviews. Poor communication was blamed for the failure of Jacques Santini and Juande Ramos at Spurs, who disappointed again in a 2-0 defeat at West Ham.
But the club’s research ruled out language as a problem, with his use of a translator seen as a convenience not a necessity. Pochettino looks the strongest candidate to take over from Tim Sherwood — although Rafa Benitez remains under consideration.
The manager of Napoli, who took on Fiorentina in the Italian Cup final last night, is thought to have a release clause in his contract.
The former Liverpool and Chelsea manager, 54, has qualified for the Champions League in nine of his past 11 seasons with Valencia, Liverpool, Chelsea and Napoli as well as winning La Liga twice, the Champions League, the Europa League, the FA Cup and World Club Cup with Inter.
Ajax coach Frank de Boer is an outsider, having annoyed Spurs last week by announcing his candidature.

Think I'd cry if he went to Spurs.
Was actually having a drink with a Spurs supporter the other week when out of the blue he asked me about Rafa. He wanted to try and understand why I rated Rafa, implying like so many do that it is just out of blind loyalty as it can hardly be because he is a good manager. It didn't matter that I could rhyme off a list of achievements because apparently he can't handle pressure (the 'rant') and will fall out with every chairman so the trophies didn't matter as his mind was made up.
He wasn't even linked with Spurs at this stage so I can imagine his reaction now and even another trophy won and CL football secured despite being in the same position as Spurs having lost their best player and main goal threat won't matter one bit as he's just a fat Spanish waiter who threw away the league for Liverpool.
Oh, I should add that in the same conversation he said that he wants Sherwood to stay and Moyes (the 'great manager') has to keep the United job because he'll definitely turn things around.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Just tell him he's the joint 4th most successful manager in Europe in the history of association footballOriginally posted by RedReet View PostThink I'd cry if he went to Spurs.

....that he's won trophies with 5 different clubs in Spain, England and Italy, that he's won 8 out of 11 Cup finals.......etc. And then laugh in his face.

It would've been different but I wouldn't change it now. I suspect he would've signed better players/bigger names - Rafa has a pull especially for Spanish/South American players. But the football we'd be playing wouldn't be anywhere near like the football we play now, and I don't think he'd have us in the position we're in now. Brendan is ****ing amazing.

I wouldnt change it now, just a general wondering I guess. I think the football would be different like you say.
Id like to have seen what he could get out of Sterling, Suarez and Sturridge. I know they are not typical Rafa players. Well maybe Sturridge is, but it would have been interesting to see if we had been as free scoring.*Except Michael, who died.
