I'd take him back just to make us competitive in Europe. Obviously only in the instance that it doesn't work out with Brendan, I still think we'll get top 4 and CL knockout this season.

I love the guy, but probably best swerved.

Not just sentiment is it though, how many managers out there have won what he has ?Originally posted by Rich View PostI can't help it but I'd still have Rafa back, even over Rodgers if truth be told, but I know I'm being terribly sentimental.
I think it's quite logical to have his name on the list of potentials.
Tbh, it doesn't really matter who the manger is or who the fans want, because lets be honest, if Bodger had won games and signed decent players then he'd still be manager.
It's results and signings that will determine any fan support of a new manager, they'll forgive almost anything and anyone if the team is winning and doing well.

I want to give Rodgers the chance to turn things around, but if he can't, I'd be happy with Rafa coming back, don't think there any many better tbh. I think he'd address the midfield area, release Gerrard and get the most out of the squad, most of the disgruntled primadonnas from 2010 are gone too.
Mourinho is back at Chelsea, Rafa back at Liverpool would be so much fun
But Rodgers is the manager and will get more time to fix things.
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Out of all the managers we've had this millenium (edit: make that since 1991) Rafa has been the best in terms of what we've won. Easily number 1. But he's hardly been against much managerial competition if truth be told.
As for my favourite manager, i.e. the way we've played, in all that time is still Rodgers though. But he's not without his faults either - player purchases mainly. However, if we're taking the rough with the smooth (and boy do we do smooth on a football pitch) then I don't personally want him replaced by any ex-manager.
If there is a next manager, not that there will be any time soon, then it has to be more fresh blood. One tit for another.

Love Rafa but have to say that a lot of the memories from his time are with rose tinted spectacles. We had some unbelievable times with him in charge, no doubts, but there were equally some truly hair pulling moments of frustration.
Lets stick with BR and ride this storm together, he is a highly respected young Manager and this is his biggest test and he needs to show us what he is made of."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

It wasn't always pretty under him but if he was financially backed it would be interesting. That Aqualaini transfer was a shambles though. Can't undertsand why there is so much animosity towards him - 2 European Cup Finals alone. Superb in Europe. He'd be my choice tbh.Last edited by ronanm; 19-11-14, 01:50 PM.Substance > Style
