Ludicrous. To think we were the best team in the whole of Europe and now we can't get past the likes of Basel or Besiktas.

European powerhouses dicked on 5-1 on aggregate by Porto and 5-2 on aggregate by Club Brugge respectively.

In Europe we've been nothing short of embarrassing.

Rafa another Euro semi final. He is the guy that gave me (us) the best night ever as a football supporter, put us back amongst the elite and made us a team to be reconned with. I doubt I'll ever feel such affinity to an LFC manager again.

He just utterly understood the club, lest we forget:

He may not be the future, but for me he will always be a legend. I was gutted like we'd lost a star player when he left

That was a real low as an LFC supporter, an admittance that we are second tier, I hope we never see that again.

This is one of the things that pissed me off about Rodgers.
More than any English/British club we pride our European successes.
He then gets us knocked at the first opportunity in Europe, playing like a team thats just happy to be there, wtf.
He’s here! I *know* he’s here! That’s him, I’m telling you that’s him! You hear me? I’m telling you it’s *Keyser Soze*!

I was happy when he left as him & the Yanks had gone toxic. I'd have took him straight back when we got new owners and if Rodgers went, he'd be my number one choice over anyone. Under him, you could take it to the bank that this summer he'd sign a top midfielder and players would want to come due to his record in Europe.

And players under him improved as long as they were willing to conform to the team ethos. He wasn't one for letting individuals just do their own thing, other than maybe the one behind the striker, but it was definitely a recipe for success. If I was FSG and I wanted a change this summer, I'd just give Rafa the whole budget and say do what you like with it.
