That is the mistake Milan did 07. Thinking that they are already the best after winning the CL and think that they don't need to get better and replace older players.Originally posted by Bender View PostIs this not the same team that won the italian league and the champions league last season
Inter must in the next couple of years replace something like eight nine players because those eight nine players are on the way down very fast.
They don't have any other option if they want to challenge for the title every season.
Rafa wanted Mascherano but didn't get the money to sign him. Big mistake by Moratti. They are now a one man team in midfield, Cambiasso, and don't have any back up to him. When he isn't 100% then they are more or less ****ed. Strength in depth? No, not even close.
They need to replace three out of four players in the back four. Only Santon is the future there.
They need to sign at least one striker and a couple of quick technical second strikers. Sneijder and Coutinho and then no one even close to what is good enough there.
Moratti probably have his biggest challenge ahead of him. Will he be able to build up a new team again because that is what he must do.Stop the cyberhate

Whether Rafa is bringing his best game to the table right now is debatable, it's the job from hell really....and i'd have liked to see him have a break, but he was up for it none the less....football Rafa..what can you do, it's what he does.
However, this inter side imo have had their best days, investment is needed, injuries have taken a heavy toll...is any of that in doubt ?

Oh dear. Rather than build on a winning team, they need to replace most of the treble winning team??
C'mon man, stop with this nonsense.
A team that wins everything is always going to struggle to do it all over again the following year. But that doesn't mean they need replaced, they need reinforced with a couple of fresh players maybe but no more than that.

Moratti isnt the one who's going to be sacked.
And what are you on about £100m to make them challenge??
They JUST won the treble - you're talking as if they're a midtable side. Are you the Internazionale version of Hodgson?

Injuries have been a mare for Rafa this year. But to read some of the posts here it sounds like Rafa is working his magic on this team just to get them 6th.
If its suuch a terrible squad Maybe Maureen gets more out of his players than Rafa does I dont know, but the fact is they should not be as badly placed as this for sure.
It was a stupid job for Rafa to take on, many saw that. Good luck to him but will be lucky to see out the year imo._____________________________________

Can i just say that for any manager to just go and make an already good team better is'nt neccessarily an easy task, winning two league titles on the trot is difficult...accompanying that with another Champions league win which again is'nt done very often, even with the already good manager at the helm teams tend to suffer a lull in trophies the season after.
It's not an easy task that's been undertaken, and i doubt ANY manager could repeat the feat, especially with the bar of expectatation now set so high.
When the side had all it's players available they were doing ok yes ? but what Inter fans and Morratti deem as ok is another matter altogether.Last edited by Vermilion; 05-12-10, 02:18 PM.

Not really. However, it might explain not being top, but 7 points off 2nd is still a poor showing at this stage of the season, all things considered.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostWhether Rafa is bringing his best game to the table right now is debatable, it's the job from hell really....and i'd have liked to see him have a break, but he was up for it none the less....football Rafa..what can you do, it's what he does.

Some people need to have a look at the age of the players in the squad. They don't really have a clue and is to lazy to check it up.
Check it up and then decide how many of the players that will be good enough in two years time. Then you would find out that they need to replace something like eight nine players but why do that when you can act the lazy way and just moan?
Check it up please and then tell me that it is wrong. Just do that, please

Just because they'll be past it in 2 years doesn't mean that they're past it now surely?Originally posted by Arn View PostSome people need to have a look at the age of the players in the squad. They don't really have a clue and is to lazy to check it up.

Arn, you're saying Mourinho took these players - who were one year away from drawing their pensions - and guided them to a treble. The following year every one of these players hit pensionable age and two or three key injuries resulted in poor Rafa managing Inter fans expectations.
