But we should have won the league that year & the handshake was mostly about people moving forward and this whole Rafa coming back thingy is actually getting cringeworthy.
Say we should have won the league against that united side is nonsense, they were an excellent side. Sorry but that comment is blinkered and ignorant of how strong that united side was (and how much deeper they were than us).

And I am not calling for Rafa back, I like Rodgers, but you are talking nonsense.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

06-07 & 07/08 he was by a mile but that's neither hear nor there as wasn't the season you harping on about

2008-2009 when we challenged for the title Anelka was top goalscorer, Gerrard close behind. For me Vidic or Alonso were players of the season.

Both teams were evenly balanced. They had Ronaldo & Vidic as their stars that season, we had Alonso & Stevie. Both teams were excellent but we had our strongest team in years and the best midfield in the world at the time. Silly results (Boro,Wigan,Stoke etc)straight after January after some bad business in January market and injuries left us short up top when Gerrard & Torres got injured, Keane (not that he was any good)was sold and we had **** all up top. We only won 2 of first 7 games after January before our great run, whereas United won 9 in a row.....Actuallyyyyy Blahhhh Blahhhh Blahhh

I've finished work, it's Friday, I just got paid, why the **** am i spending it arguing with the Craig H reincarnate

Have a good weekend Matty, drink plenty of cranberry juice... heard it's fairly accurate for helping periods

I'll say this slowly so you can understand

                        United
                        Had
                        A
                        Stronger
                        Team
                        Than
                        We
                        Did
                        And
                        Had
                        Better
                        Depth

To say we should have won just it was our best team in a long time is unrealistic especially when you look at the quality of cover we had for Torres, who was injured for some time that season, they had Rooney and Berbatov as strikers and don't forget they had a run of 11 consecutive clean sheets.

And quite frankly it is ridiculous to criticise us for not getting 90 points over a season and yes it makes you blinkered to simply expect that.

The refs played a blinder for United that year too.

                          And don't forget superstar Macheda.

Think we had the better side in 08-09. Utd definitely had the depth (and experience).

If Rafa had been given the funds to build on that side (instead of having to sell Alonso to try and buy Gareth Barry).... Never mind
