Have you seen his little exchange with Motson after the match today?

Motson (paraphrasing): "If you win the Europa league final and get Chelsea into the CL, will you be there next season"

Rafa: [Big smile - Pats Motson on the shoulder] "I don't believe so."

    Are we winning?

Not going to turn this into a was he great or wasn't he great debate. Undoubtedly a huge achievement in 2005 and a great coach. Just makes absolutely no sense in him coming back now. Need to look forward. Whether Rodgers is the man it's open to debate, but I'm not of the view that 'If Rodgers doesn't do it, I'd bring Rafa back'.
How many if those players did he buy or get performing well above the standard Houllier had them playing at? He even changed both Carra & Stevie's primary playing positions. Agger & Skrtel performed far better under him than they have since & Yossi was a really good player too.

After that season Scum replaced Ronaldo & Tevez with Valencia & Owen.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Mancini definitely gone from City and rumours that Benitez to be next manager of Newcastle. All disclaimers apply-don't shoot the messenger!

It could be a good job for him. He would end they're 70+ year wait for a trophy, and maybe finally be seen in a positive light from another club apart from LFC.

              Hmm, I dunno.

He's better than Newcastle and like Chelsea - with their thick as **** fans - he'd be on a hiding to nothing if he went there.

The geordie fans are not as thick as the chavs.

The obvious place for him I guess is Madrid if Mourinho is off BUT following him again would surely be a mistake & one I hope he doesn't make again.

City if they have any sense should be looking at him.

Hope he doesn't go to Newcastle.Last thing we need is yet another club in the hunt for the European places

Completely different situation at Real Madrid after Mourinho than what he found at Inter.

The Real fans boo him and the players are falling out with him one by one, the latest now are his 'former' allies Pepe and Ronaldo.

However, Ancelotti is going there, so it'll be Man City or PSG in my opinion, unless I've forgotten someone else really obvious.

It would still be going into a club in some upheaval and I'm sure before he's off Mourinho will cause more mischief and issues which will need someone sorting out, the Madrid job is going to be a tough one early days IMO.

If Ancelotti goes there PSG would be a good shout, he'd certainly have the funds to build properly.

PSG will want Wenger as first choice and Pellegrini is nailed on for City.
