BBC news was on in the background this morning and this was a Chelsea fan’s (works for their website or fanzine) comments.

He started by saying the biggest problem with Benitez and something he couldn’t forgive him for was his comments about Chelsea when he was Liverpool manager. He said the first thing he should have done as Chelsea manager was apologise for it, but instead he chose to say nothing.

These are the comments that Benitez didn’t actually even say and the female presenter also pointed out that he did actually respond to them.


He then went on to say that Rafa should have to take full responsibility for the results, he can’t blame the players or the fans. The presenter asked if he thought Rafa wasn’t giving it his all, but he replied, ‘No, Benitez has given 100%, but the players haven’t.’ So obviously he was asked should the players not take some of the blame- ‘No, it’s Benitez fault’.

He was then asked about Roman’s role in all of this. ‘I haven’t agreed with a lot of his decisions over the years, but no matter what he does, he’ll always have my full backing’.

T'was embarrassing.

Normally you'd write him off as just one idiot, but in this case that whole attitude and level of ignorance seems fairly representative of their fan base.

But it is his love of Liverpool that his kept him in this country, and that makes me so sad. He will never come back here but clearly it is what he wants more than anything.

His rep has slowly but surely been shredded away in recent years. He is the manager, the job of a manager is to get the best out of the players at his disposal. Chelsea have a fantastic squad, one of the strongest in world football and Rafa has not got anywhere near the best out of them.

Terrible decision by him to go there & equally a terrible decision to take him on as Chelsea manager. IMO Rafa wanted to use Chelsea as a springboard to go elsewhere, but all he has done is damage his reputation even further.

I'd love it if Abrahamovic bucked the trend, agreed with Rafa, and handed him a 3year contract, adding that the players and fans better like it or lump it, and anyone that go's against that decsison isn't welcome at Chelsea, as all they'll do is hurt the club.

Ok, it's maybe not something i'd like to see Rafa continue with, but tbh, it would be worth it just to see it happen, and the faces on those Chav pricks, and what they'd think of their owner then, there would be much stamping of feet imo..
