I thought it was always Spurs he wanted but saw Stamford Bridge when past on his way to WHL? Spurs were not even a CL club, so the fact we might have pushed Chelsea out that season did not make any difference IIRC.

No, I think Chelsea were a day away from bankruptcy then he turned up with his billions. If we'd ended their Champions League hopes they may have gone under. So the story goes

Hmm, not sure if that would have happened, but they certainly got lucky with Roman. Loathe him or loathe him, he has put those cunts on the map with his money.

            Not the smartest move IMO.
If he quits, he doesn't get a pay off. Think it was his way of getting out early and making sure he gets paid.
Rome wasn't built in a day, but it wasn't built by the apprentice either.

Maybe. Not sure. Quite a few articles say they were in debt of £80m at the time and Bates was the owner. Only one outcome with that combination

In all genuine honesty, I think what Rafa has to do now is start from the bottom again and work his way back up. He jumped in to the Chel**** job after two years away from the game, so it was never gonna go well, especially with a cunt like Abramovich in charge. His rep will no doubt always get him a job with some team or another, but after the Inter disaster and now Chel****, he needs to take time building his credentials back up again.

Listening to Guillem Balague earlier, and it's become very apparent that Rafa has tried using a Spanish style of communicating a message, and it has backfired into a hysterical mob-like reaction against him.

All he meant was to say 'forget about me, I'm leaving anyway. Support the team'. Instead, it's gone wrong.

I can only think of Valencia in terms of a job in Spain, unless Simeone leaves Atletico. I thought he'd be nailed on for the Real Madrid job (Rafa), but it appears that Ancelotti will be the one who gets it.

I'm not sure i believe this. Rafa has lived in the country for nearly a decade and know how the press operate especially towards him. He would have to be pretty thick to think they would have interpreted in any other way than it has been.

Isn't it obvious? It's Agent Rafa all the way. Infiltrate, destroy, embarrass.

I doubt that Roman would have had the same problem at us. We don't have Terry and Lampard in the squad.

IMO he would have built a new stadium straight away and spent a load of money on new players.

I would rather have Roman as owner than Gillett and Hicks.

So with Roman we would probably be playing in a fantastic new stadium now without any debt at all.

Ok, it's maybe not something i'd like to see Rafa continue with, but tbh, it would be worth it just to see it happen, and the faces on those Chav pricks, and what they'd think of their owner then, there would be much stamping of feet imo..
Why do think Roman signed up Rafa and refused to give Lampard and Terry new deals?

I know that Terry now got a new deal but IMO Roman tried to do the same thing you want him to. A big **** off to player power, a big **** off to Terry and Lampard. A big **** off to the Chelsea fans.

He wanted to show who is in charge. He didn't understood how big hero Terry is among the Chelsea fans. That is a war he can't win.

Apparently Chelsea have sacked their last 2 managers just after they played West Brom.....
