Ridiculous panel on the BBC "rant" story.

    Rafa's rants
Then-Liverpool boss Benitez's "fact" statement in 2009, responding to Sir Alex Ferguson's comments about the fixture list: "I want to talk about facts. I want to be clear, I do not want to play mind games too early, although they seem to want to start."

On Marco Materazzi questioning his management style: "He's lying. Marco Materazzi is lying. He's lying, just lying. Everything that he said is a lie. Simple."

On Roy Hodgson succeeding him as Liverpool boss in November 2010: "Every single press conference is even worse than the last one. He is talking about things he doesn't know… some people cannot see a priest in a mountain of sugar."

On Everton, February 2007: "When you play against the smaller teams at Anfield you know the game will be narrow."

Another disastrous career choice by him unfortunately. All of this seemed inevitable long before he took the job. Why did he do it?

Still I agree wit everything he said, and although I think he should have seen all this coming, I can't help feeling really sorry for him

In an attempt to rebuild his tattered reputation in English football. The rest of the world takes him for what he is - a flawed but still very good, very competent manager with a will and ability to win - but over here he will always be derided as "the fat Spanish waiter" and known more for his "rants" rather than his tactical brilliance against AC Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona, etc... when he made Liverpool officially the best team in the world.

Media makes and destroys people here, and I fear what they did with Rafa they will do/already are doing to Luis.

A lot of people are over what happened last season and are taking him on his footballing merits but there's still a couple of odious little pricks (namely Martin Samuel) who simply refuse to stop beating the "SUAREZ IS A CUNT" drum, even going so far as to say he could never, ever vote for him as player of the season. I think the majority wouldn't share the same problem but doesn't stop them from over-reacting every time he so much as glances at an opponent though.

BBC news was on in the background this morning and this was a Chelsea fan’s (works for their website or fanzine) comments.

He started by saying the biggest problem with Benitez and something he couldn’t forgive him for was his comments about Chelsea when he was Liverpool manager. He said the first thing he should have done as Chelsea manager was apologise for it, but instead he chose to say nothing.

These are the comments that Benitez didn’t actually even say and the female presenter also pointed out that he did actually respond to them.

He then went on to say that Rafa should have to take full responsibility for the results, he can’t blame the players or the fans. The presenter asked if he thought Rafa wasn’t giving it his all, but he replied, ‘No, Benitez has given 100%, but the players haven’t.’ So obviously he was asked should the players not take some of the blame- ‘No, it’s Benitez fault’.

He was then asked about Roman’s role in all of this. ‘I haven’t agreed with a lot of his decisions over the years, but no matter what he does, he’ll always have my full backing’.

                        T'was embarrassing.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
