I know his records but he never played for one of the top clubs or dominated in the Champs League - also didn't he score 4 in one game vs The Saudis.

He's like the anti Messi - superb nationally but so so at club level

I don't doubt that Klose was an excellent player but for me not elite level CF - think of when he was at his peak in the mid 2000s you had Ronaldo, Raul, Henry, RVN, Eto'o, Batistuta, Owen, Fowler, Suker, Vieri, Del Piero, Rooney, Zlat, Larsson, Crespo, Drogba, Torres, Shevchenko - any of those would have been at bigger club sides than lazio where he spent a lot of his career
