Those who criticized Rodgers when things were bad go told off and apparently "only came on the forum when things were bad or we lost" I'm only repeating what I said months ago, I have to be consistent.

I thought Can should have played more after Chelsea and Markovic instead of Balotelli (both new grant you) and Johnson also came in for Manquillo a couple of times after good performances from Manquillo.

The young players look very promising but we failed to invest in areas we really need to and cement a top four finish, that was a disaster IMO, admittedly I lost faith in BR and didn't think he could turn it around credit to him and shame on me. Still feel he had favourites and played the wrong players the first half of the season though.

I don't think the issue was playing the wrong players, I think it was playing the wrong formation. We tried to play the same way as we did with Suarez and Sturridge in teh team and we didn't have the players to do so. I don't think it would have mattered who came in, I still think we'd have struggled. Likewise, those players who were heavily criticised first half of the season, I think could come into this functioning side and play much better (as Gerrard, Hendo, Skrtel, Mig etc. are).

Markovic and Can are playing well now, but the formation suits them. Just look at Coutinho. He's playing great now too, but he was heavily criticised first half of the season. If Can or Moreno had played as much as him, taking that much criticism in their first season, who's to say they'd be playing as well as they are now. I certainly don't think they'd have had enough impact to drastically change the direction our season was heading, so personally I think they have been managed well.

Its a tough one today, I wouldn't want to change the back too much and I think Markovic and Moreno deserve a rest for the amount of running they put in against Chelsea.

He's class though and like you say I can't wait until he cements a place in the CM position.

Ran out of superlatives, phenomenal footballer, buy a decent right sided centre back who is comfortable on the ball and he'll run our midfield for 10 years.

Could argue that already Can is our best defender in the back 3, in our best centre midfield pairing, can play off the front and is probably our best right back as well.
