Plus every time I see him stroking his beard in that Nivea ad I want to punch him in his big Jimmy Hill chinned face. There, I've said it. Wish I could do his little flicks and turns though, skilly *******.

Apparently its in the Nivea contract that he starts every game he's available
I was reading that Men in White Suits while on holiday, one of the interviewees in it is David Thompson, who makes all manner of ludicrous, self aggrandising claims. Anyway, he said something that made me think immediately of Lallana - he was advised by one of the senior players (Barnes I think) about wasting energy checking back on himself and making unnecessary body movements, so he cut it out of his game. Pity nobody has told Lallana this, its ****ing infuriating. He's far too big on the fancy dan, pointless flamboyancy for the cameras ****.
Anyway, Thompson also said he was better than Lampard and would have kept him out of the England squad if Houllier hadn't made him play on the right, so y'know...

He is capable of producing quality like he showed last night, but he doesn't do it nearly enough, I would like to think that he isn't doing it regularly because of his injuries and coming back from them and that he will raise his average level and get more involved in games when he has a run of games, but I'm not convinced of that.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He needs to make his flicks and turns worthwhile - i.e do it further up the pitch instead of in nondescript areas. He's another one we need closer to the goal. He's also much better when he's being more direct instead of taking tons of touches and hanging on to the ball too long. In terms of ability he's good enough for us, I think. We just need to find a way of getting the best out of him. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think that he is more suited to the No 10 role than Coutinho as he does sometimes at least try to run in behind the defence, which is something Coutinho doesn't. Coutinho IMO if he is looking to play through balls need to play a deeper role.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe needs to make his flicks and turns worthwhile - i.e do it further up the pitch instead of in nondescript areas. I can forgive Smicer for any number of poor performances he had for the role he played in the 2005 CL finalOriginally posted by tanner View PostHe's a poorer version of Smicer. That's all we need to know.
He'll pop up with the odd bit of magic, though less frequently than Smicer did, but ultimately leave Liverpool having contributed very little in the grand scheme of things.

Agreed - if selected in the same team I'd have Lallana further forward and Coutinho in that 'number 8' position.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think that he is more suited to the No 10 role than Coutinho as he does sometimes at least try to run in behind the defence, which is something Coutinho doesn't.
