Think he plays best from LCM. A Mid Field of Lalana Henderson with Can in the DM role would suit him best, with Coutinho in the hole

I don't agree about the whole "pace holds him back" etc. Lots of player don't have pace to burn, yet they are fine. His close control and ability to beat a man is more than enough to make up for any lack of pace.

I dont think hes been ****e, hes got 5 goals and 3 assists in 28 appearances (Sterling has 8 goals and 8 assists in 39 appearances and Coutinho has 7 goals and 4 assists in 36)

Agree that we probably didnt need him but think you are a bit out on him being ****e and terrible

Agree with that... surprised he's had 28 appearances honestly, doesn't feel like quite that many, only 1462 minutes in the league so far.

I think the lad is a really decent footballer, certainly debatable whether we needed him or if he was worth over £20m but when he's played he has consistently been one of our better players imo, as evidenced by his standing in the motm table despite his lesser number of minutes compared to others. I hoped for more from him certainly but he definitely isn't ****e.

Agree totally, I always give all LFC players (Mario doesn't count) a season to settle, then judge them on year 2.

Lallana will be fine and will do well for us.

I like him. I think he needs a bit more space to work in than Coutinho which he isn't getting with out lack of mobile strikers. A good player to have in the squad, although we probably paid about £10m too much for him.

United paid 60 million for Di Maria who I thought was brilliant at Madrid , and he has been on the bench for them , just goes to show even world class players take time to settle and price doesn't come into it ,

I'm still a fan but worried about his injury record this season and his lack of positional flexibility (if you want him to perform at a high level).

The one thing Lallana (and Markovic though not quite transparent yet) has in his locker is he can score goals. We haven't seen too much evidence of this as he's settling in/injured most of the time. But the types of goal mouth chances that Henderson and Sterling miss would be put away by Lallana/Marko.

In fact the sort of goal mouth chances Hendo/Sterling miss I'm sure I could score from.

nah not having it. He has been woeful for lfc. he had his chance against united to bury the ball.....would have got us back into the game and he got stagefright. He is a southampton player.... he came up through the leagues with them and even had a good 12 to 18 months with them in the prem.....but he aint no top class player.

Ever wonder why we had a free run at signing him?? No other top 4 team even had a look......they were too busy signing good players. Even his old manager didnt have a go at signing him for spurs.......

Not a chance is he the new Downing.

You're judging a man who's been playing catch-up all season and has been hampered the entire time he's been here. He's a good player. Overpriced but a good player. Downing wasn't. If he stays injury free and gets a good pre-season under his belt you'll see his worth.
