Has been a ****e signing. ****in terrible.

I got slated fir saying it when he signed, but we didnt need this guy. Not when coutinho was better, younger, faster than lallana.

If he really was brendans first choice signing last summer, then questions need to be asked because we are not lumbered with a guy that cost 25m but we would struggle to get 10m for.....

I dont think hes been ****e, hes got 5 goals and 3 assists in 28 appearances (Sterling has 8 goals and 8 assists in 39 appearances and Coutinho has 7 goals and 4 assists in 36)

Agree that we probably didnt need him but think you are a bit out on him being ****e and terrible

Now if you were talking Lovren or Balotelli then thats a whole different story

Very talented guy that has been cursed with injuries this season. It's turned out to be a **** signing this year alright and we haven't seen nowhere near he best. Hopefully he can come back stronger next season and not be a perm crock like so many others.

How does he fit into a team with Coutinho and Sterling and possibly Ibe already in it?

I don't mean to keep picking up on your posts, but...

Great player in what way? He's been nothing but a disappointment since he joined, there are goal and assist stats above which are pretty poor in isolation, and the same can be said about his fitness record.

£25m for a player with little pace, little attacking intent and no real end product, taking the stats into consideration. He looks unsure when he attacks, rarely drives forward and wants to beat players twice, which slows attacking impetus down.

For me, its another transfer fail. I can't imagine that his Southampton replacement Tadic would have been a worse signing for Liverpool. Might as well have just gone straight for him.

Ok, so maybe injury comes into it, but he hasn't done anything to justify being called a great player

I agree with most of what you say. What i would add though is that even if he was fit all season then i think he would still have been a **** signing. 25m on a player that doesnt get into our first 11 if everyone is available. That is a disgrace signing...

and Markovic. It is overkill in that area, although Ibe will probably play wide & Sterling will probably play..... for Arsenal or Man City.

He doesn't have the pace to play on the left side and he takes too long to deliver a ball in. The best place for him is behind the striker with his head up looking to beat a player to make space and release it forwards. Aside from his lack of pace, his biggest issue is his indecision and insistence on checking back on himself, which means he should never be ahead of Coutinho for that role. Which means the bench or playing when Coutinho is injured... I expected more.

I like him, I really do, although the price tag was a bit much. But I think this purchase was also in part due our lack strategy and planning regarding team building. This was not a priority signing at all, he'd have fit in last season's team well though.
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

He doesn't but if those three are going play every minute of every game next season then you raise a valid question...

My thoughts exactly apart from the price tag bit. Think he was £20m in the end and that's just about right.
