Sure, he was the best player in the league and we miss his ability now.

But he's also a bit of a dickhead who dragged us all through the mud time and again, and was only available for 3/4 of the season through sheer stupidity.

People complain about Balotelli being an idiot. Suarez is worse. But he's an infinitely better player so people were more inclined to defend him to the hilt. I think that was regrettable.

Are we a worse team without him? Undisputedly. Are we a better club without him? Undoubtedly imo.

So yeah, I don't miss him, and I don't particularly give a **** about what he does next.
    I agree completely.

I think the revisionism of his attempt to leave to Arsenal vs Torres hatred for going to Chelsea is interesting. The only difference imo was more backbone shown by the club with Suarez, otherwise the outcome would have been the same.

A great footballer undoubtedly but he comes across as a person lacking in intelligence. For example to blatantly tell a ridiculous lie that he fell into Chiellini, thinking people might buy that.

I also don't buy the, i'm just a lunatic on the field, i can't help myself argument he has used in some excerpts from his book that i have read. To think that there are probably some fans who empathise with this is funny, given that he is a 27 yr old man.

Thats my perception of Suarez, which isn't worth a thing and fairly limited in that i only know the persona he portrays in public, but no less limited than any of the other players i watch on Tele.

But he is demonstrably not a lunatic off the field. He is only a lunatic on it. That's a fact.

Yea, i mean i don't think he's mentally ill. but i also don't believe he was incapable of controlling himself and not biting people earlier in his adult life.

and i think, correct me if i'm wrong, he said he was scared he would not be the same player if he tried to tame his 'wild side' - I don't believe this

His tenacity and passion is part of what makes him a great footballer along with other exceptional qualities, control, finishing etc. but there are lots of players that play with tenacity and passion without doing so many ridiculous things on the field.

It's from his book. Those that have read it say it's pretty clear he has no lasting love for LFC.

Personally I think it's the fact he never wants to play in England again because he still feels aggrieved at how the media and the FA treated him.

We could afford wages with Gerrard going. I don;t think it will happen as he will stick it at Barca, But couldnt see him wanting to be in London...,Man City I suppose.

But if given the choice why would he want to play anywhere else?

I am basing what I have said in this thread on what Suarez said in his own book.

He said nothing bad about Liverpool, and he stated that he enjoyed his time here, but he was also very clear about which past clubs he holds most dear and Liverpool was not one of them.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

That's how I read it as well. The passage on Ajax was telling, where he said he'd love to go back one day at the end of his career - he never said the same about Liverpool. The sense was that Liverpool was a closed chapter - served its purpose, got him to Barca.

Has he not previous said, or at least hinted, that he was a little pissed off with the way he was treated at Ajax/not backed up in his biting incident?

He'll have to test out Barca's love for him for the final chapter in his serial novel soon enough then.

Well, he wanted to come back to be awarded with his Golden Boot award in Liverpool, sure we mean something to him, and in time, maybe he'll come to realise how important we were for his career, so you never know.
