Don’t want to be harsh on the lad but can’t see what he offers anymore... plays like he has given up trying to get in the team, he needs a new challenge elsewhere.

He has produced some of the most iconic moments of the Klopp reign - Barca brace, Spurs final, the Ev goals and more. He produced a run of form on the run to the Europa league final where I thought he’d go in to be brilliant but that assault by Funes Mori ****ed his momentum.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostDon’t want to be harsh on the lad but can’t see what he offers anymore... plays like he has given up trying to get in the team, he needs a new challenge elsewhere.
He must be the only player to go on loan and come back to get regular minutes but he has passed his sell by date. He will go down as a cult hero but I think we should have sold him the summer after Madrid because his value was never higher.
I see a lot of people asking him to play down the middle but for me he hasn’t the Football intelligence to lead the line. For the size of him he should be better in the air but regardless Klopp likes him cutting in off the left where in the past he got some vital goals for us. I know his scoring rate for minimal starts isn’t bad but he just isn’t going to get the time with Jota, Taki, Shaq all ahead of him.
I’d love for him to go somewhere else and do well but I don’t see a future for him here

I thought after the positive performances the year that we won the CL he could lay a key role as backup to the front three, but since then in general he has just been poor, in hindsight we should probably have let him go out on the high of a CL final goal. I thought he was a good player back then and could push on but it hasn't happened. There is still a decent player in there but we rarely see that anymore, he has clearly slipped down the pecking order and whether it is a confidence issue or not getting run of games it's difficult to see a future for him here. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It’s also really difficult to get parachuted in and find form, instantly, once every 10 or so games. Same with making a real impact from the bench, not many can do it. He has managed this from time to time but not often enough and he doesn’t really fit our formation when he plays through the middle. When he goes out wide he is being compared to 2 of the best players on the planet. He knows where he is in the pecking order. Seems like such a decent bloke but it may well be that this is his last season.
His goals v Barca will live with me for ever.Modifying post.

) and his reaction afterwards was so Divock - he ran into the net, grabbed the ball and started going to the halfway line
I’m not sure he knew the score

Same with his CL final goal celebration. Saunters to the corner as if he’s just smacked one home in training.Modifying post.

I was in the main stand that day - front row in line with the 18 yard line. Never noticed that he got the ball and ran to the half way line

He also needs to be played in the right position, which is as a central striker. Bobby was useless when Brenda played him out of position. If we are going to persevere with one up and three attackers behind, he could be that one up occasionally.Originally posted by danperkins View PostHe has the physical attributes to be a decent player but he is lazy and seems to drop the head very easily. Needs a move to a club where he'll get regular mins as it will never be at LFC.
