Inter Milan are keen on signing Liverpool striker Divock Origi in the January transfer window.

Romelu Lukaku has been in superb form, with 15 goals in 17 appearances this season, but boss Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen their back-up striking options.

Former Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez has only scored twice this campaign while Lautaro Martinez has been linked with a move away and cast doubt over his long-term future in late October.

And as reported by Corriere Dello Sport, Inter view Origi as an excellent back-up option to provide cover and competition for Lukaku.

Having his international team-mate Lukaku at the club would also help grease the wheels of a move to the San Siro.

The 29-cap Belgian has played just eight minutes across three Premier League appearances for Liverpool and eight matches in all competitions this season, scoring only once.

Origi is keen to increase his playing time ahead of the delayed European Championship, set to take place in the summer of 2021.

The 25-year-old is however contracted at Anfield until 2024 and could well be a part of Jurgen Klopp's long-term plans.

The Reds have discussed a potential swap deal between Origi and centre-back Ozan Kabak with Bundesliga side Schalke to help solve their defensive injury woes.

A decent fee and good luck, he has offered absolutely nothing this season.

No way Inter play real money for him - most likely a loan which is no good to us.....

Yep would be shocked to see any Italian club offer us a decent fee.

Would also see it as a bad move from Origi's pov as well. He is fifth or sixth choice with us amd he would be swapping that to be third or fourth choice in Italy depending on whether Lautaro Martinez moved or not. He would just be swapping bench time for bench time.

At least if he went to Wolves or even Schalke he would be either a starter or second choice and get more game time.

Wolves possibly although I wonder if a certain free agent (Diego Costa) with ties to a certain agent (Jorge Mendes) ends up three.

Schalke are doomed - guaranteed to go down.....can’t see Divock wanting to go there permanently

Rumours are/were of Costa going there on a contract to the end of the season.

Not sure if we could mug them for 20m+ twice in quick succession

He has pace, strength and power but so little aggression it is only a matter of time until he comes out as trans.
