Yeah dont worry about it mate. What's done is done. Its only wrecked the lads chance at playing in a European Semi and potentially a final. Water under the bridge
    *Except Michael, who died.

He really isn't handling things well is he Mr. Martinez? Origi was lucky not to have his ankle broken by that assault.

It's such a devastating injury in terms of timing. Look what Origi had begun to achieve this season - he'd taken himself from 4th choice striker to first. He was in such incredible form leading into the sharp end of a European campaign and a Euro Championships he would have been approaching full of confidence.

All gone. For a deliberate bull**** snide tackle, done by a guy desperate to show his supporters he has 'spirit' in a game that was already lost. The apology is bull**** because he walked of the pitch kissing the badge and banging his chest. He ****ing meant it.

Gerrard could have done exactly the same to Herrera. It was pretty similar. In no way am I defending that tackle... but dual standards do exist when its on one of our players.

Personally I think he meant to rake him and ****ed it up.

Not that it makes it OK, far from it, but it was dirty and cynical, not actually designed to injure.

Martinez's pubic pronouncements makes Rodgers look well judged.

Gutted the lad is out. But when we have been given a spanking in the past by say Utd and with no spirit being shown I've been crying out for someone to at least **** an opponent up. Would loved Rooney or Ronaldo to have been snapped in half. That was then, now not so more. Basically I can't advocate crying over divock when I'd have been happy in the past. Bad tackles will always take place.

The tackle is the tackle. But dismissing it as water under the bridge is doing a bit of disservice to ruining someone's season end.

I agree, I was pissed off at the defender but I'm also pissed off at Martinez for trivialising this.

Ok pissed off is maybe stretching it, annoyed rather.

Martinez just says things, much like Brendan did. He's a media numpty.

Cut from the same cloth those two, both love the sound of their voices and have ideas above their talent.

As for Funes Mori it wasn't the tackle which I saw as the problem it was his reaction afterwards. He must of known he'd badly caught Origi, but his pathetic badge antics as he headed off the pitch illustrated to me that he didn't give two hoots about his fellow professional.

I'd be happy to see a player injury him.

was this the one were gerrard came on as sub and ran straight over and smashed into the lad.
if it is then its still as bad. not only was he spilling pent up aggression it meant nothing to the game and left the team even deeper in the ****.

im all for strong tackling and maybe being a bit firm to show the other team you are not to be ****ed with but to basically remove yourself from the game is stupid.
look at the way flanagan plays the ball and goes through a bit, the next challenge you bet the other player is only going in 50%.
