Ironic really, bearing in mind taht we have so many strikers and so few in the other positions.

I can't understand the number of fans even considering benching him for Firmino. Not Sturridge but a midfielder.

In the 433 we've been playing, there isn't really anywhere else for Firmino to play.

I'd prefer to see Origi get a go but I have to agree with @Muddled I think we'll see Firmino start the season off, Origi maybe forcing his way in by impacting from the bench.

the preseaon Firminio has had gets him the shirt for now, I fancy Origi to have a big breakthrough at some point in the season though, we look a different side when he's up top with another

I would assume Firmino starts simply because he is ahead of Origi in terms of how much of a preseason he has had
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Original had less of a pre season than Firmino because of the Euros.

Firmino may start, but I think Klopp sees Origi as his eventual CF. He is quick. Jurgen likes a bit of pace.

I think this is the season when Origi morphs into Thierry Henry

I'm on board. I wanted the thread renamed that last season when Shaggy's first mentioned it.

                        We should still rename it.

No doubt about any of that but Firmino has been training longer & should be ready to go & Origi can have an impact off the bench until he's fully up to speed.

Nicked from the Jurgen Klopp thread:

                            Klopp on Origi

He is not a very experienced player, he needs to sort all of his skills. He needs to use the right skill in the right moment

"Physically, he can make another step. But on the other side, he has no rhythm in the moment, which you can see."

This saddens me. Origi has not looked too much out of rhythm whenever he's started for us. So no, I can't see Jurgen.

Obviously Klopp sees him more in training than any of us ever can or will. But then Klopp couldn't see that Coutinho-Lallana-Firmino-Sturridge is the worst formation against any bus parking team you can find in the PL.

I reckon something's going on behind the scenes and Origi is in trouble. Probably see him leave by January. Would explain why he's not being picked, sure ain't because he's a fast, strong, good in the air, goal scorer. Not for those reasons.

I suspect he's doing some coaching there chief

He clearly sees potential in Origi, he played so much last season, but if he's not showing it right now then I guess the manager needs to be on his case. That's a good thing, no?

Certainly beats hearing about how awesome everyone is. Klopp seems to be pretty tough on the players, that's good imo and will help build a winning mentality.
