Starting to warm to the idea of Benteke after not wanting him at all since we were linked. Whether I'm justifying the move to myself or not, I don't know

Think one area we'll definitely improve on next season is set pieces. All the top CBs are going to be on Benteke, freeing up Skrtel and Lovren/Sakho.

This pre-season alone Sakho has shown he is good in the air, and Lovren has shown he can nearly hit the target, every time

I find it really hard to believe that people think he's just a big lump. Power and pace, a whole array of different types of goals & can strike the ball cleanly with both feet (which nobody has mentioned). I think he'll do very well one he gets the service & if he stays injury free.

A great complication of goals there, hopefully he can translate that to LFC.

Will be just great to have someone who will be a goalscorer again, Sure he will create plenty of space for Midfielders to, Seems a real handful and i imagine Lovren will get loads of free headers to blaze over the bar while the defence are taking care of Benteke.

Have to admit his composure in front of goal with either foot is surprisingly good. Most of the goals on show were high pressure games against top oppos. Let's hope he carries that on.

Right foot, left foot, head! What I liked most is his composure in front of goal. He finds space in congested areas, and makes time to control and finish. Most of our players in those positions snatch at shots first time and lash them over/wide.

I'm encouraged...

Cheers for posting those last 2 videos marcus. I think what they show, which is contrary to what so many have been saying..... that Benteke has a good all round game. Reading here over the past month, i have felt Benteke has got a really hard time. IMO alot of the detractors that seen him as just a lump or target man... really haven't watched him properly. The Andy Carroll/Lambert comparisons are blatantly untrue, he is everything they are not.

I think we've brought in a player that not only is a goalscorer, but can function outside the box too. He will be fantastic for us at defending set pieces too, much like Drogba did at Chelsea so many times. If he does not succeed here, it won't be from lack of quality IMO ... it'll just be one of those things.

I think once he stays injury free and settles in, he will be a great signing for us. Can't wait to see him in a 4-3-3 and hopefully he can get the all the fans on his side.
