We have definately slowed down our play in recent weeks we don't play with the same intensity and we aren't doing as well.
Yes we play a high energy game but we aren't really playing that many more games than most teams so if the players are tired then we probably don't have a big enough squad, and we are really going to struggle if we make it into Europe next season, so it is something that we are going to have to learn to deal with. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think he should be taken out of the team & the problem resolved.
He seemed to be up for it against Utd but on the whole Hendo has not looked right since returning. Coutinho and Matip are also still recovering from a long lay off and even Lallana hasn't found his marathon runner lungs yet.
The whole team is in a bad place at the moment, that's what happens when bad luck happens around such a minute squad. As long as Mane doesn't come back injured/knackered and with all our players getting minutes under their belts I think we'll be raving about our, and Hendo's, football by mid-late February. One tit for another.

Henderson isn't even remotely a holding playerOriginally posted by Fredo View PostThat's what Henderson is doing.
I like Henderson and he can do a great job for the team but he isn't a holding playerBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Agree with this , we are curtailing what he is good at making him into a pass backwards and sideways player , Feel like Hendo has been great for us when he can use his energy levels pressing and covering ground in the danger areas.Originally posted by Lecter View PostHenderson isn't even remotely a holding player

Couple of years ago would have said Lucas would have been perfect for the DM position, Kante would have been great
Not sure who is out there though to come in and do it.

I think its more to do with the system we're playing.
All too often we're left 1v1 or 2v2 in defense - we never have a defensive overload situation and on the laws of averages we're going to concede more often on that basis. the teams we've really struggled against have defended in numbers and we've been completely unable to transition quickly between attack and defense

i watched the highlights [lolz] of the southampton game on tv last night and for the saints goal the left back picked the ball up on the edge of their goal area and ran the length of the field unchallenged and only passed the ball to shane long when the runner was about 10yds outside our box.
i know we were pushing forward hoping for the late goal but ffs jurgen...removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The lad that ran the length of the field is 20 and Jurgen is 49. He should never have selected himself I agree.Originally posted by baitman View Posti watched the highlights [lolz] of the southampton game on tv last night and for the saints goal the left back picked the ball up on the edge of their goal area and ran the length of the field unchallenged and only passed the ball to shane long when the runner was about 10yds outside our box.
