Coutinho for Trent sounds a no brainer. Maybe Klopp needs to look within before calling some of the players unintelligent.

I think he just doesn't trust a lot of his squad - when everyone was fit he'd always give the extra midfielder Can or Gini 30 mins. I think he has about 14 players he is comfortable with and the rest are just 'there'.

The youngsters are not ready in his mind for such pressure games (he says so in a press conference once) yet TAA has always done well.

The game was crying out for fine composure at the back - we hoofed it away rather than keep it. Midfield was shot and Firmino/Origi couldn't keep the ball.

We didn't play great but did enough to win - v disappointing and tough cames to come. We need some bottle now!

Part of that could be because our bench is ****ing ****e

Really look today who would you have brought on

Sturridge the game changer - how many league goals has he managed this year??

        Gruijic?

        Moreno the headless chicken

        Woodburn?

        Matip

        TAA

I actually thought the Matip change wasnt that mental, but he should have taken Firmino off shortly after that as he looked shot

          How many has he scored?

I know he's made of glass but Sturridge can't exactly score from the bench.
          Football without Origi is nothing

I think initially he wanted to close off the space in the channels and pushing Clyne & Milner into wingback positions gave us numbers also in midfield and left the ball with Bournemouth's centrebacks

Bournemouth did this immediately after they scored they got men behind the ball and let our centrehalves have it, it wasnt until Klopp bollocked Klavan & Lovren during an injury break and told them to carry the ball (you could clearly see him telling them that) that we started to improve

Our problem was complicated when Firminos legs went because we no longer outnumbered them in midfield

Should have brought TAA on for Firmino imo, gave us some energy and numbers in the middle

had this exact conversation earlier this morning with a fellow LFC fan. There has been several occasions where his subs have been fairly questionable this season. Trent's inexperienced but he's positive and his pace is exactly what we miss without Mane. I thought he was excellent when he came on vs Everton too so would have been nice to see him get a chance to follow that on. Even if Phil was sick, at least replace he with someone who is not a CB.

replacing coutinho with matip left a big hole in our midfield. firmino looked like he was dead on his feet and any chance of keeping the ball up the field, pressing or trying to get a winning goal was flushed right there.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The hole was Firmino tiring not Coutinho going off imo

Firmino has looked exhausted for months now. He's a quality player that needs a rest but unfortunately our squad is too thin to do that.

The hole was Lalana, Henderson and Mane - big holes to fill with a squad not long in depth.

What's less than too thin? Whatever it is that's what our squad is.....

Yep. This squad lacks length in depth.

Or depth, as it's also known.

He looked fine against Everton. And City and Burnley. And Arsenal.

No one mentions it when we win.

They all look a little less than best when they are missing their key team mates.

reminds me of Murray Walker commentating on the British GP when Schumi crashed and broke his leg...

"And Schumacher is looking down at his right hand leg"

So his right leg then, Mr Walker?
