Not sure there is any benefit in saying they're all **** and we'll need a new keeper next season - you need them (Mig and Karius) engaged and trying their best, rather than not giving a **** because they know they'll be leaving / second choice next year. The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions to me; the distinction is yours to draw...

He won't change them, I'm sure. He rates them.Originally posted by The Red Cardinal View PostNot sure there is any benefit in saying they're all **** and we'll need a new keeper next season - you need them (Mig and Karius) engaged and trying their best, rather than not giving a **** because they know they'll be leaving / second choice next year.Always borrow money from a pessimist. Sometimes, when things aren't going well, it looks like you need lots of changes but football can turn very quickly and just 1 or 2 players could make a huge difference. Earlier in the season we were flying, not many would have called for mass changes, my main concern is that on top of a couple of very good starters we require 4 more players just because the squad is so small.
I think our priority will be an attacking player, we apparently had a bid rejected for Pulasic towards the end of the summer window so that gives some indication. If I was taking a stab at it I'd probably say Brandt will be our main target.
The only other clear cut decision in the summer in my opinion is the sale of Sturridge, he doesn't fit the way we play, he doesn't make much of an impact when he comes on and it just makes sense for both parties at this point.
Personally I like Henderson in the deeper role and don't see the need for a DM type, our style is based on teamwork and mobility and we'll likely see the back of Lucas too if we bring in a partner for Matip which I think will be 2nd on the list.
The rest will be tough decision for Klopp;
The goalkeeper situation, I can't see him giving up on Karius that quickly.
Left back, what to do with Milner if we sign a first choice.
In midfield Henderson Lallana and Wijnaldum have looked good together, would any accept a lesser role?Last edited by Robbie-9-Fowler; 14-03-17, 09:21 PM.Vive la France

He will never be commanding. He's a mouse inside a man's body. He can save shots but he doesn't save the shots he has no right to. There is no way mignonette is getting any better than what he already is. His punches are still weak, got himself in a right flap against Giroud the other week.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI'd say Mignolet has stepped up in the last month. How would you rate him if he consistently played to this level until the end of the season?Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Oh you mean like the punch where he took out two Burnley players in the box?Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostHe will never be commanding. He's a mouse inside a man's body. Can't comment on that as I didn't see it.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostOh you mean like the punch where he took out two Burnley players in the box?
There is no way he's going to become a match winner over a season. No way.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

I think that when judging our squad going into the season, we sseem to consistently underestimate the number of injuries we are likely to have, meaning that we go into the season with a squad which is fine when everyone is fit or when one or two players are out, but we don't have the squad to deal with 5 or 6 players missing because when that happens we end up with 4 or 5 kids on the bench.
I think most people here will agree that we need a CB, LB, CM, CF and a GK.
Mignolet has had an upturn in form, but he seems to go through these periods of good form for a run of games before it drops off again, this has happened probably 3 or 4 times in his career here so I don't believe that he will maintain that level of form indefinately. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

OK nigella. OK.Originally posted by Fredo View PostHe has already on numerous times.
He's a real imposing figure when a striker is through on goal. His save to shot ratio is extremely high. He is the best we've had since Clemence. Keep him. Give him a new contract. Make him captain. Knight him. Sir Mig.
Or we could drop him off the ferry and no one would notice.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

To start with a keeper that has won a title helps bring a winning mentality to the team. Hart and Kasper are two that have both recently and are gettable. Neither are error free but both have that something that Mig never will. I'd opt for Jasper as his game appears to be on the up whereas Hart did stagnate.Originally posted by Fredo View PostFind me a keeper who does all these things consistently well. If you do and we can get him, then fine.
For me keeper is the number one position in the whole team. It's no coincidence we have not won the league for over 25 years and our keepers have been on the whole average bar a season and half from Reina.
