On the Sakho point, did any of you listen to the Anfield Wrap interview with Damian Hughes where they discussed how managers build a culture at a club and it's important to not compromise that culture for players, no matter how good they are?
They used the example of Ibrahimovic at Barcelona and how once they knew he would not fit into Guardiola's desired cultural fit, they had no choice but to move him on, at a huge financial loss as well as reputational one.
If Sakho was toxic to what Klopp wanted to build (and whether you agree or not with what that culture is is irrelevant - the manager sets it and must back it all the way) then it seems regardless of short term pain, there was no option but to bomb him out.
Give it a listen it, was a really interesting show:
(It was a free podcast not behind their paywall)The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions to me; the distinction is yours to draw...

Klopp needed time to build at Dortmund and he will need it here as well. It's quite obvious we need better players, but he couldn't tear up the whole team last summer though, and things did look like we had some good players.
I think he needs to rip up the spine of the team, buy four top players through the centre of the team, make one them be a dynamic tackler like Kante/Mascher/Guyae and get some strong characters in too.
It's crazy to ask for him to sacked but we should shout for him to be backed.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I just think people expected to much from him, he will get it right and make us competitive but his methods take time. FSG prefer his methods to buy low and coach rather than Jose who buys big and ready.
If you want instant success, go follow the Mancs or City or Chelsea.
We can't or won't go down that route.

I wouldn't dream of calling for Klopp to be sacked. That would be stupid right now. For me, he needs to be backed big time in the summer regardless of how we finish the season (unless obviously we totally **** up and finish something like 8th). His big problem is that there is sweet **** all on the bench. I wonder was that a point he was making by bringing on Woodburn the other night.
And although I am worried about Klopps in-game tactical management of the team, or the fact that there isn't really any - one thing you can't argue with is his performance in the transfer market. To get Mane for a couple of million more than we sold Benteke for is brilliant. Wjinaldum - although up and down - has largely been a success. Matip on a free transfer has been a brilliant signing. Karius cost feck all and is very young. And although Klavan isn't good enough for the first team, he cost less than what we sold Skrtel for.
However, it is a huge summer for JK's LFC career. If he gets it wrong, then I think this time 12 months we will possibly be looking for a new manager.

Wow - that is a bit OTT Slinks, I just think as many have said that we have too many players who bottle it when they have the chance to do sth.Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostKlopp didn't look arsed last night and he just mumbled his way through the post match interview. Was a bit bizarre really. I am seriously worried the team aren't playing for him anymore.
Looks at the Europa final 2nd half, look at how we have fallen off a cliff when n contention. They freeze in the face of adversity.
Klopp has 3 of his own players so I will give him the time to get it right, if they are not playing him then he can **** them out of the club because with them we have won **** all and consistently finished between 6-8 in the league.

I'm not worried about life, I'm worried about the club ha ha!Originally posted by Bender View Post**** that.....like the footballers give a ****....not sure why your seriously worried ....More important things in life to worry about than Footballers and Football Clubs.

I am concerned about them, I don't want to see them playing this **** for much longer and I'm sure you don't either.
See I didn't see it personally, my mum said he was pissed off so if you say it and my mum can even see it then he must have been!Originally posted by calvoboy View PostHe was absolutely seething in the interview I saw. Really being careful about what he said though as he was so angry, maybe that's what you mistook for not caring?
The team are playing for him too, we've just got too many glaring weaknesses when we lose a couple of players. We rely on high energy in midfield, yet only have one player (Hendo) who can consistently supply it and Can who adds so little he actually seems to absorb it. We rely on pushing up the pitch to compress the space for counter pressing, yet when we do Lucas is a sitting duck if he's picked at CB. We rely on having a striker who can work and press as well as being a goal threat, yet haven't got an alternative if Firmino has a dip in form. We rely on pace to break down teams that park the bus, yet only have Mane in the squad with pace.
Despite all that, we do have various plans B, C and D, contrary to what people are saying on here. We tried three different formations in the Leicester game. What people mean is we don't have a big lad up front. But we've tried that in the past with Carroll, Lambert, Benteke etc. and we're no better off. What we really need is some depth so that we're not picking the same team regardless of form when they are all fit, and so that we aren't criminally exposed when we have to pick Lucas and Can.

I don't know mate, I do kind of feel like it's a bit of a Ranieri style situation. The players just don't look arsed.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostWow - that is a bit OTT Slinks, I just think as many have said that we have too many players who bottle it when they have the chance to do sth.

As you said he needs to bring in his own lads as most of these pricks were here when he took over.Last edited by Slinky Skills; 01-03-17, 06:41 PM.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

surely it is a case of the team getting fed up with the leaky defence that Klopp has tried to fix using gaffertape, superglue and semtex.
This has to be the focus in the summer. Remember Houllier came in and formed the basis of our defence for the next decade. We need to do this again. Not rely on midfielders and free transfers, or defer because the right player didnt want to come to a team not in the Champions League.
I cant remember a defence as **** as this one since Mike Hooper, Torben Piechnik, Phil Babb, Steve Harkness and Nicky Tanner of the Souness vintageIn the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
