Rodgers would have been more successful had he had one. I agree Klopp needs a DoF.
    One tit for another.

First start - what do you expect - 2 years ago he was the Scouse Cafu

Give the lad a chance, at this moment he's a better Rb than TAA or Gomez
I make no apologies, this is me

Sorry but that's just not true.

Really - TAA got exposed by both City and Burnley - Gomez isn't a RB

Flanno isn't my first choice but his history suggests he's better than both of them a RB

He’s been out for two years with horrible injuries, and by your own admission wasn’t great in his first game back. He may never be as good as he was again, and he was only potentially good even then, despite the scouse Cafu nonsense.

Same with Danny Ings. Would be great if they both come back flying, but they’ve both been out a long time, and need to prove they’re capable of getting back to anything like their previous best. And even their previous best might not be good enough for us now.

For the time being they are squad players not starters.

                Flanno played leftback.

And while he was hardly breathtaking, he was pretty solid the whole season. offered little going forward, but considering our defence was still shaky back then, he came out of that season looking pretty clean.

I dont think he is the answer though. id give it to TAA as he is likely the long term solution.

I hate kids playing in the defence. They should learn their trade on loan. Mistakes by a defender at this level are often punished (or always punished... ) but further forward you can lose the ball and not have you heart in your mouth everytime.

I'm very aware of him. I just think his job could be reshaped, obviously I'm looking outside in but I'm less than impressed with our recruitment and would prefer someone with a bit of experience rather than a data guy.

My point is that we have a director of football. It's Michael Edwards. His recruitment and data role was reshaped into a Director of Football/Sporting Director role that he was awarded on promotion. At the time it was described as giving us the exact same setup that served Klopp so well at Dortmund, and that Rodgers resisted.

You can argue he's ****e and we need someone better in with more experience, but not that we need one per se as he's the man.

Personally I think that FSG reckoned he was talented and promoted him too quickly. Like you I'd prefer a more experienced "football man". I can't imagine that we'd have ended up with the Van Dyke debacle if Edwards had been head of recruitment with Kenny as DoF for example.

I remember Rogers persisting with the same defense and everyone knowing that it would cost him his job. Klopp's not at that point yet, but if he doesn't change something in January he will only have himself to blame if the knives come out.

We've only lost one proper game when we were down to ten men FFS?

(I'm not counting the League Cup - going out of that is a blessing in disguise).

Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool's problems aren't that bad

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists their problems are being exaggerated as he plans to revive a frustrating week.

After a draw with Burnley last weekend Liverpool lost in the Carabao Cup to Leicester - who they face again in the Premier League this weekend.

Liverpool have conceded first in their last four games and struggled to convert their chances.

But Klopp said: "It sounds like we have no points and are completely the worst team in the league."

Their defensive concerns have increased with the injured Dejan Lovren unable to train this week and Joel Matip also struggling.

But Klopp believes the situation is not as bad as is being portrayed.

He said: "Yes we have problems, that is why we 'only' have eight points and not 15. We can make it more serious than it is or we can take it like it is.

"I understand 100 per cent (why) we sit here and talk about the things that have happened.

"I know already about all these problems - or 'not problems' - and I've made my decision already how to work with it but if I talk a lot about it I only create headlines - 'Klopp says this. Klopp says that' and it doesn't help us.

"We have work to do but that would be the same if we had 15 points, only it would feel different but it would be the same.

"We conceded the first goal against Sevilla and responded really well, we conceded the first goal against Burnley and responded really well.

"This is the long part of a three-game week from Tuesday to Saturday so we have one more session. We can use it but we have to prove it on Saturday."

After their struggles to get games they have dominated over the line, questions have been asked about whether Klopp has the right sort of characters in his squad.

There are no longer the likes of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher present to rally the players on the field, and while the Reds boss is happy with what he has at his disposal, he still believes it is an area they can work on.

"Yes we have the right characters. Yes sometimes we react really well, sometimes we don't react perfectly," he added.

"That is how it always is and we can improve on each part of our game. Character is nothing fixed.

"Someone says you cannot improve on this, you cannot change your mentality but of course you can. You only have to get used to it.

"If we take the right information from the things we have done so far then it always helps and that is what I try to help the players with.

"As long as we stay in the game, as long as we do what we are good at we are a threat for each team.

"Only in the moment when we change these things then it becomes a problem."
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

I dont really give a **** what he is quoted as saying. Managers cant say what they really think half the time anyway. Publicly they have to back their team. All managers spout bollocks.

What they say in public and what they say behind closed doors are almost certainly different.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
