Thanjk you.

Awful in the first half. His passing in the second actually was the springboard for us getting back into it.
Utterly dreadful and had no sense of positioning, but seemed to find it in the second half.
BT Sport were waxing lyrical about City's midfield, and having a spare man, but it can be negated if players are compact, and block passing lanes. He got to grips with it in the second half.
Harsh to say he was aawful first half, he was over run. They all were. But as sitting mid he was exposed. Once the formation was fixed to support him, he was immense.
He was the first player to grow a pair in possession and put his foot on it. He really does blow hot and cold, and that inconsistency does make his position in the squad in doubt imo, but he has the ability and if he can get his head right then great.

It seems to be a shape issue rather than a player issue. He was superb in the second half.

But our midfield wasn't changed that much. It was just that they were more compact when they needed to be, be in the right positions when City had the ball, and were more willing to take the initiative in the second half. It's simple on paper, but it looks like Klopp reminded them.

It looked like quite a big change to the midfield to me, second half...we went from three in the middle to 5, with Salah just loitering, ensuring City had to keep men back. Going 5v5 in the middle made Winnie's role much simpler, he knew who to mark, where to be and wasn't constantly trying to work out who the biggest threat was.
It was a change that shouldn't have waited til half-time, if I'm honest. Once it changed, City no longer looked a threat and it was an easy second half.

We changed it a few times first half but it was the half time change that took the sting out of the game.
We weren’t set up to handle that mad city formation first half, and that’s because nobody knew what formation they were playing.

As Buzzo said it was changed in the first half. But as Klopp said, at half time they were able to explain it better so the players knew the what and where better.
It also was an easier second half cos City had tired and we scored after ten minutes which pretty much killed the tie dead.
