He often goes games without winning a single tackleOriginally posted by Snigger View PostHe's great at breaking up play but has not creativity at all going forward.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

And thats because the opposition obviously don't have the ball...by design. Takes out two or three of our players instantly because that's all they are: ball winning water carriers made redundant (Wijnaldum, Can, and pick out any other).Originally posted by Lecter View PostHe often goes games without winning a single tackle
Can was worse with his 'ball control' though. The amount of times he controlled the ball like a drunk lamppost was past ironic-funny-depressing. We (Klopp, not the fans) showed Swansea too much respect...and yet we still conceded. The game needed Lallana on from the start, failing that just throw Woodburn in. Something, anything.One tit for another.

Wijnaldum -> Keita then!
Can looked poor but he was at least trying and not passing sideways all the ****ing time.
Not sure why it's not played to feet and just laid off for a runner to burst into the box. We've done it countless times but we seem to stall against packed defences. We might even get a penalty!Was muß, das muß.

In those games were he didn't make a tackle Henderson and Can made some and Coutinho was winning the most. Its been discussed time and time again on here
To me frequently the game passes him by and his contributions are massively overstated. Teams don't by pass our midfield they play through itBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Gini is a squad player no more no less. He has had some great games against good opposition but more often than not he has been anonymous... which is very frustrating. Most teams will sit deep against us now and rightly so it's the best way to get a result against us. This completely negates our midfield as they suddenly have to become creative.. which just isn't in their locker.
That midfield is purely just workers and no player seems to excel at one particular thing. We seemed to have developed into a very workmanlike unit in which everyone does the same things... this can be good or bad depending on who the opposition is. The only thing I like about Emre Can as oppose to the others, is that he gets stuck in but I won't lose any sleep if he goes to Juve (Serie A and more time on the ball might be a great option for him).
IMO we can upgrade on Hendo, Gini, Milner & Can. I hate our midfield especially now Phil is gone. In saying that I do think that all of our midfield have been asked to change their game under Klopp and as much as I criticise them I do think that it must be a tough transition to keep your discipline and curb your natural instinct to push forward. Remember Hendo used to used a fair amount of assists and do lung bursting runs into opposition box & the second Can gets the ball you can see he is itching to burst forward. To me both of these players are what you would call box to box midfielders. Gini to a lesser extent but definitely asked to do a more defensive role under Klopp.Last edited by danperkins; 25-01-18, 01:52 PM.

absolutely there is no diversity in the midfield been saying it all season "samey". Lallana might change that but he is inconsistent and injured alot & he doesn't have the eye for a pass Phil had.
