Better he gets smashed and doesn’t comeback

I know many say he owes us nothing, he’s won it all with us, gave us great memories blah blah blah, yes I suppose he did, but he also stood there, kissed the badge and told us that this was his forever club, his dream was that he wanted to captain the club etc etc, all bull****. His behaviour and his playing over last couple of seasons has at times been diabolical and we all stood up for him and supported him as one of our own, only for him to do this. People were pissed off with Coutinho, least he had the respect and courage to tell us he wanted to go, we got a decent fee and reinvested, he didn’t rat us out of 80-100 million.
Some making a lot of the 20 year thing as well, like he’s given us his soul for 20 years, think it’s way short of that, not to mention the club has invested everything into him during those years as well, it does go both ways. He’s dead to me now, will not be remembered for the goals, the amazing passes, the Barca corner or certainly not his defending, but instead be remembered for being a rat Judas!
Rant over…….back to lurking now ha ha ha ha
From one lurker to another, thank God this is over, can move on now and let Slot build for next year, hopefully Yerman Bradley fulfills his promise, it will be mildly interesting to see if Trent can become a rare success after leaving the club. Cannot think of many others

Two of the most unliked ex players we've had there, I can only think of one player disliked more and that's EH Diouf.

Will Trent go the same way?

He is a lazy *******, imho. Bradley still overlaps with Salah in the way Trent used to, so I dont think its tactical his lack of running forward. He played his best for us years ago. While his range if passing is still fantastic he doesnt have the engine to play anywhere else in the team.

So I think ultimately we will miss the fee, but not the player.

I dont know how he will fit in at Madrid. While Beckham went there and moved centrally and was actually really good, I cant see Trent making that transition.

I mean... if he does go to Madrid and started charging around like Gerrard, how would people feel about him then?

Might still get a few quid for him as Madrid want him in the World Club Cup. They can register new players between 1-10th June

Not as bad maybe, but he does have his weakness, I think no defender was dribbled past more often in the league, and he even missed a fair bit of games this season.

Trent has been an average to good defender but has been incredible at linking play, particularly in the attacking third. I don’t think there is another defensive player with his skill set in world football, hence Madrid moving for him.

We are going to struggle to replace his unique value, any suggestion other wise is deluded IMO
I fully agree, he’s nowhere near as bad defensively as is made out. With Trent, it’s always been a question of effort and that’s what was alluded to above. I expect he’ll bust a gut for them whereas he ambled around with us.

He’s the best deep progresser in world football and I can imagine with the pace of Vini Jnr and Mbappe it will be some weapon for them. It also frees Valverde to go back to midfield. We won’t replace what he offers like for like so we need to get more creativity into the team from elsewhere

    But

Be under no illusion that this has been in the works for about 18/24 months, himself and his tout brother (scalping tickets btw) have engineered a free transfer so they can pocket all the money. If he really cared then he’d have found a way to sign a contract and get us a few. He’s an 80m footballer in his peak leaving us for free - that’s the galling bit. No amount of gaslighting videos will make me believe he truly “cared” about the club. This was him, looking after him
