i thought he was ****e last night...... but if he can keep himself fit then he is a good squad player to have.

Having said all of that, I would put him 6th on our list of midfielders when everyone is fit - behind Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson, Keita, Elliot. And it is debatable if he is ahead of Milner and Jones too.

He was singled out on MOTD as being influential in our performance also.

I was out so didnt see the match, but I'm going to trust Klopp on this one

Really???? I was at the match and nobody around me was surprised or annoyed that he was hooked. We didn't play particularly well last night but Oxlade didn't jump out as having played good to me. Even that run into the box in the 2nd half, his effort at squaring it was pathetic!!!

They praised off the ball work was praised on MoTD. I didn’t think it was one of his better games overall, not on recent form at least.

I thought he was a bit crap too but if Jurgen's happy with him then I'm more than prepared to accept I haven't a clue what I'm talking about
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

One of the best things about Klopp is that he continually proves none of us have a clue.

Not sure I agree with how much influence Ox had on the game

It's things that they probably worked on in training, like off ball work and stuff like that. He has to be more disciplined when he's playing in the middle. So makes complete sense Klopp praises him if he sees an improvement on that side. Pretty sure it might not be enough for Ox though, as he was clearly not 100% satisfied having not completed a game for us.

But it's tough to come into this side when everyone is fit. There's an array of world class players in front of him, so it would be harsh to compare him to these players. He did play a wonderful first time pass out to Mo in the first half though, so he's got the ability clearly. It's the consistency which he needs to improve on.

As a side note, Thiago had a bit of an horrible 30 mins last night.
                  Are we winning?

Not having those Klopp quotes, I think he's talking him up to build the lads confidence more than anything.

Yeah, seen the game, like the lad, then saw that headline on BBC this morning, was mystified, watched the clip, remained mystified.

But he's doing OK and that's good enough.

Just trying to boost the ego a little bit surely? He talks everyone up. He's a positive guy.

Ox has the odd nice moment, but overall he is bang average.

Personally I would have him as 8th choice. I just think he a bit wasteful. I think Jones is a bit smarter in his play, and Elliott is a better prospect, and he is a level below the rest of the squad... although he is by no means awful. I just think the quality of players we have got is just off the scale compared to previous generations. We have no completely dead wood (okay... apart from Karius)

I think he is better than Minamino though, who is decent if a little lightweight.

I’d take Ashley Barnes over Ox right now.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
