FFS while less frustrating than losing players currently at the club, the whole point of this move was to get him regular games so long term this is another frustrating injury
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Just watched the highlights replay again and he took both goals very well. Would be great if he could chip in with goals off the bench to keep him confident & hungry for more minutes.
He looks best when there is space to break into (like last night). Previously he has really struggled against teams that play 10 men behind the ball and suffocate games - to be fair this has been a collective issue but seemed to affect him more as he gets knocked off the ball so easily.
There wasn’t much space on offer especially for his 2nd goal & he held them off quite well too.
Yeah defending players tend not to be as physical in their penalty boxes
Hopefully it’s just taken time to adapt physically to the EPL, Thiago suffered from this initially and Naby still has games where he struggles to impose himself.
I was mocked on here preseason for suggesting Taki was a good finisher.
I'd have liked to see him centrally last night as an alternative option to Jota when Bobby is out. Although, 2 goals and another confidence booster for Origi, so not the worst outcome.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
The concern for Minamino (and Origi, really) is that, to really perform well, they probably need to play games at a fairly regular rate. And of course, they’re not going to. The reality is, Minamino could’ve scored 5 last night and he’d still not start at Brentford.
The fact is, Mo is nailed on to start every game when fit, and then two of Bobby, Jota and Mane are also nailed on.
For Minamino and Origi to get the game time needed to help them become decent understudies, is nigh-on impossible.
