I would rather give his place to Jones who has come on in leaps & bounds since he came back into the team as he will improve further thus the savings we make in the weekly bill & our money back if Thiago is sold.

He’s an injury prone 31 year old with a year left on his contract on 200k p/w. I love him as a player but surely not even the Saudi’s would pay more than that……Originally posted by Fivex View PostWould hope for a bit more than we paid tbh.. we’d even struggle to replace his talents for £35m, even recruiting someone expecting to be a squad player.
No doubt he’d be v hard to replace but having someone available would be a good start

If we got our money back and he fancied going I’d let him go - superb player and absolutely elite mentality…… but he’s always injured

Bring in reinforcements so he's not forced to play every week, then roll him out for the big games when we might need him.
first couple of seasons he managed 35 games a season, We overused him last season and we knew the injury was coming.
Bring a couple of midfield players and don;t overplay him.

Yeah if we do get a big bid for him (similar to the Neves money?) then I think we'd have to accept.
Would be gutted to see him leave, but injuries ruined his time with us and the money could be invested to better the squad.
No big bids though and happy to have him stay, even on a big wage. Keep him fit and he's still an elite player in the right system.

Or taking the money now while it’s on offer & moving back to Spain in 12-18 months..

Even if a big bid comes in, it will still rely on Thiago wanting to live and play in Saudi Arabia.
Not quite so sure he is the cash in type tbh. Could see him seeing out his final year with us and then going to Spain or Italy to see out his career with one of the mid table clubs.

Indykalia reporting last night that:
* Thuram deal is very close and pretty much imminent.
* LFC have been informed that the Saudi's are going to out an offer in for Thiago
* We'll turn our attentions to getting Barella if Thiago offer is acceptable
Speculation of the highest order or a wannabe insider... either way, I'd bite their hand off for Thiago sale and Barella coming in. More goals, younger and available all season - no brainer.
We could end up with a new half a first team at this rate... yeah, like FSG are gonna sanction that much spending!? Unless the investment coming in by summer is actually happening...
So many twists and turns, my heads ****ed already and it's a week into the window...
