Ruben Neves did, but he was free to as his team had gone out.

Who else? I’d don’t think Cancelo did. Pedro Neto didn’t, again because his team are still in.

Trent had a game on the same day, so he couldn’t have made it, unless Madrid released him.

Most of the British lads went to the funeral in suits whereas the Europeans wore t-shirts. I've never been to a funeral in warm weather but I'll be sure to drop British convention if I do.

As I said, quite a few missing that I thought should have been there, those in the US and those who weren't. Anyhow not my karma
I make no apologies, this is me

You said loads in the US had travelled over, so I was just wondering who else.

Tbf the funerals were held just 48 hours after the news came out, so I wouldn't be too critical of those who weren't able to get there from wherever they are in the World.

It just should never be about this.

Who are any of us to say or judge how someone deals with grief? Grief from the death of a person that they had a far closer relationship than we do? These guys were literally best friends with Jota. They didn’t watch him from the stands or online. They saw him every day. They knew his wife, his kids, his brother, his mum and dad. Their grief is far deeper and more profound than ours.

To judge them is just wrong.

This is the heartbreaking statement from Diogo Jota's mother :

"He never asked us for anything. He never said he
wanted branded boots. He knew we couldn't afford
them, he was thoughtful. That's why he learned to value
                things-and life.

The feedback we received from Paços de Ferreira (his
first club) was amazing. They told us Diogo was very
responsible and mature. And for us, that was enough.

Knowing our son behaved well was better than seeing
him become a superstar. It made us feel that our work
had been well done, and that filled us with pride.

He never went out at night as a teenager, only for his
birthday. No dinners out, no parties--nothing. He stayed
at home, even when I myself told him to go out.

For Diogo, if there was soccer in the afternoon and
PlayStation at night, that was enough. We worked hard
to give him his first console. He never asked for it. He
                never asked for anything."**

The heartfelt letter written by Isabel Silva, Diogo Jota's
mother, in The Players' Tribune, about her son.

                Rest in peace
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Just in day to day business it's pretty grim how the over exposure leads to all this judgement of people none of us know.

To continue to apply in these circumstances highlights how toxic it all is.

                    Give people a break.

To be honest I've pretty much stayed clear of social media these last few days. Some content is pretty upsetting and just find the whole thing pretty guy wrenching. Will really hit home when the team comes together and start to try to get ready for the new season

Yep, the whole club will be dreading that but life goes on so it will get easier over time...gone but not forgotten.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

We will be in tears watching this I’m sure. My wife is really struggling to come to terms with it, it was only a few weeks ago we were at Anfield and watching the families walk around the pitch together after the celebrations.

Retiring the shirt number should formally be announced, I mean who apart from maybe his son’s would want to wear it at the club in future anyway?

I suspect the fans in the ground may sing his song on 20 mins going forward and that will just become another tradition that ensures he is never forgotten.
We are here for a good time not a long time....
