I hope he starts again next weekend. I thought he played well in general yesterday- really gets stuck in to be fair.

Also I feel like Jota hasn’t been doing enough to keep his place. I think in a sense Jota might be better suited to 30 minute cameo appearances at the end of the game- after Darwin has tired the defenders out. Also I reckon it makes sense to limit Jota’s minutes to minimize the risk of injuries.

Jota is such a streaky player. He will at some point go on a run where he can’t miss.

It was great to see Darwin score and hopefully a run of games will bring the best out of him. I for one absolutely love the controversy that is brought in posting any opinion or critique of him.

The way I see it, Jota lost his place due to form so Nunez should be keeping his place now for the same reason.

Nunez can also do that take on the world thing that Jota does just with more pace/physicality and seemingly without the risk of injuring himself whilst bouncing into defenders.


Looking at how Slot has used Jota as a 9, and the way a 9 in a slot team is not expected to put up big pass numbers or anything overall technical and instead be more or less a traditional 9, Nunez could do very well in such a set up.
