He's scored as many (if not more without checking the stats) goals as all of them put together over their entire LFC careers

This is an interesting stat site.
Should put to rest the Andy Carroll debate, but it is interesting to me that the thing that sticks out is his ability to retain and pass the ball, compared to Mane/Firmino/Salah... and Suarez. There is a big gap in that particular stat.
Its a fun comparison website, where you can ignore the stats that dont back your argument. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Like Harv said he is better than the 3 of them together. He will be miles better in a functioning team playing down the middle. He deserves next season at least before selling.Originally posted by Rigadon View PostWant him to do well, but think we need better. Feels like we paid too much for Origi’s replacement. It wouldn't surprise me if we cut our losses with him in the summer i.e. Robbie Keane with Rafa.
We've heard Klopp talk about taking risks, and how we can't afford to, compared to Abu Dhabi FC, yet we spend £60m+ on a long term project? And then there's the language barrier, which has been used as an issue too. Sometime doesn't quite add up.
I think he has the qualities to be a fantastic forward, similar to Cavani. I think a proper pre-season will be great for him.
I'm not sure Klopp sees it that way though, regardless of what he says publicly, or the club briefs.
If someone came in and offered £50m, I think the new Sporting Director might be knocking on Klopp's door, and convince him we should accept it, and use it to buy an explosive player. We're lacking a bit in that department when Diaz can't play.Last edited by Phoenix07; 04-05-23, 06:04 PM.

He has had one season at Benfica where he was exceptional... but that is it really. I thought the fee was ridiculous on that basis.
Problem is,who can afford 50m on a player who can only speak spanish and portugese? He wont fit Barca or Madrid. That narrows the list of prospective buyers. Of course he might be a slow learner nd pick it up over the summer. But for Klopp to mention that publically is not a good sign.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

I think he gets another season, despite the fee we bought him as someone who wasn't the finished player, he was still very much a work in progress. His performances are hit and miss and he misses what you might consider some good chances, but despite that he is still averaging a goal less than every 150 mins played for us, which in his first season in the team/league is fairly good, you can further mitigate the situation by saying how poor the whole team has been for much of the season. Clearly he is lacking confidence, he has been in and out of the side, would probably benefit from a run of games, but we can't afford to give him that at the moment.
Again it was another interesting signing because he didn't obviously fit into our system at the start of the season and agrueably fits less so since the signing of Gakpo. I don't think he is a lost cause he just needs some work, his confidence back and us to figure out where he would fit into the side. I don't see him being moved on this summer because IMO he deserves a second season, but also we have so much to do elsewhere in the squad and I don't see the numbers working out at presentThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
