To be honest Gakpo should’ve buried that and Darwin was caught a bit in his heels, that isn’t on him for me. The other one he slashed well wide was v unlikely to go in because there was 4 bodies between him and the goal. I think we need to move on and he was poor last night but I think there’s been serious over reaction to the “misses”Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostExcuse the video, but it was this one. I had employed breathing techniques and anger management theory after the one you posted, but this one pushed me over the edge.
I ****ing hate what he does to me

Oh look at this guy. Swaggering into the thread with a lot of common sense and nary a bit of snide in his post.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I’m not sure Jota suits it either.
****ing **** etc
I posted in another thread that we need to figure out what we want from our central striker as Nunez and Jota are very different players and that affects the way the team plays. Jota contributes in the box, but not so much in build up and approach play, Nunez is the opposite.
More generally for me the reality of the situation with our forwards is that we need players other than Salah to contribute more, his numbers are great in terms of G/A, something like 70% of our goals or assists come from Salah. While that is a positive for him personally, it's more of a problem for the team as a whole, because were he to be out for whatever reason you wonder where the goals will come from. In our last 9 PL games Gakpo has scored 2, Nunez 1, Jota 1 and Diaz 0 goalsThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I know it wasn't his best game by any stretch of the imagination last night, but I don't think Darwin is an issue for me. His overall contribution is very good and is the only viable option we have that can be both physical and direct when that's what's called for. His obvious weakness is that he isn't an elite level finisher, which can be frustrating at times. Not as frustrating however, as Jota, who is an elite level finisher that happens to be made of biscuits. I think defences generally hate playing against Nunez, which has a value on its own. It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

end of the day, he is not great at doing what we need him to do (Score goals) but he makes enough contribution some of the time. But he is not a top quality player, by any means. I would suggest we need a new striker anyway, as I dont think any of the centre forwards are reliable for different reasons. I think the focus will be on our defence in the short term though. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

There isn't a striker on the planet that would excell in our setup. It's all ready for a firmino mk11 to come along. Both nunez and jota are having to sacrifice their natural game and opportunities for the team. Whatever we're doing It's working as we top both leagues. Why the need to hunt down scapegoats.
The nunez of past seasons was smashing posts and crossbars and missing numerous chances. This season there are a lot less efforts on goal. But the team is foing well.
Long term he's leaving but for now I ****ing love his effort. It's unrivalled in the team bar Diaz.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde
