That's exactly what it is. An event to make money with a predefined outcome.

The difference being in the crowd in Germany compared to doing the same in Manchester or London is night and day.

At best at the UK venues your night is spoiled by loud groups of drunk and/or coked up men and women. At worst you get physically attacked and injured.

Do the same stuff in a German stadium and you find out pretty quickly how efficient their venue security and especially their police are.

Go to a big boxing event in Germany or the US that does not have a UK fighter in the main event and the in crowd experience is almost always a very different one.

Far too much money it these days for it not to work though.

I've stopped going to the boxing as too many smackheads high on coke thinking they are AJ, spoils a good laugh

I don't think it really encroaches on pro boxing, other than that KSI fella trying to market it as such. Most of the others seem to refer to it as crossover boxing, like they're not pretend that there isn't a distinction?

Wasserman separate it as sports entertainment. To me they come across clearly as two different things, like professional wrestling/WWE and actual wrestling. It does need its own governance though.

You guys know there were a couple of world title fights on this weekend? Janibek scored a KO and Tim Tszyu put a very game Brian Mendoza through his paces to win a comfortable decision.

Not great fights but actual boxing. Given the public choose to watch that, we only have ourselves to blame.

He was as bad as Flintoff that time. Has to be seen to be believed. Clowning around, the most abysmal technique ever seen in a ring, barely threw a punch, started kicking the other fella. All sorts. If he gets another fight then I give up

The Saturday Night scrap outside The Duck and Hen maybe?

Not sure that screams PPV though.

As for whoever the Danis guy is, did not see the "fight", do not know who he is, but if there is money to be made out of having him in a ring then I think it is nailed on he will get another "fight"
