i'd prefer my way to what Cook would do

bat all day thurs/friday, rain off saturday, bat all day sunday, declare at about 600 and give the aussies one day forcing the draw

not having a pop at him - he's a better cricketer and captain than me but you just get the feeling with Cook, that if someone offered him a comfortable draw right now.....he'd take it.

        You're missing an Australian innings

As for the weather, still looks fine. A bit of rain about on Saturday, but I'll be surprised if we lose more than a couple of hours play.

              Soooooo excited

Think they'll win this toss. Surely they'll win this one

Forecast has changed a bit too - rain tomorrow and Saturday.

Meeting from 10am and scheduled to run until 4.

                Who decides these things! Seriously.

They'll win the toss, they've got to win something...... right?

                  What a joke!

I'd start heaving - faking it obviously - charge out of the room as though you're about to be sick, get in the car, drive home and put the cricket on

If our boss wasn't on leave he wouldn't have stood for it!

Haha - might be an idea. If I'm talking about cricket on here at 12 then you'll know that I followed this advice.

Tremlett in then chaps? Be harsh on Bresnan but I would love to see the big man get a chance, been bowling well for Surrey.

Got to pick Tremlett yeah. The Aussies are terrified of him. I was listening to Gideon Haigh last night who said he is very highly rated in Oz and they rate him as our best bowler after Anderson. Shame he's been plagued by injuries. He's about 31 already. I predict if he plays he'd be the leading wicket taker in this Test.

Saker loves him too and they will want him in the Aussie heads before the winter tour.

32.2% of Test wickets at Old Trafford since World War II have been taken by spinners - the highest percentage of the six "traditional" English grounds.
