Thanjk you.

Just got back from my first half marathon distance run. Not the quickest - 2h 3m, but a fair first try. Ankles struggled. Can anyone recommend good shoes? I underpronounce (I heel strike on outside of foot) and weigh 14st.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
Haven't used structured shoes in years (changed my running style so I just use neutral now) but a lot of people have been wanking over the new Saucony Guide. I used the 5 back in the day and it was alright.
Awesome work on the half too. Anything within 5 minutes or so of 2 hours is immense work
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I'm back running regularly now after a sports hernia. An anti inflammatory steroid injection seems to have done the trick (but might just fail a drugs test). I am doing the Birmingham half marathon next Sunday, so will have one last long run tomorrow, a short blast on Wednesday and a gentle parkrun on Saturday.
Go on memory generally, but I record things down post-training to keep track. Can monitor your progress better that way. Helps be more focused & scientific.
Don't worry about not being able to re-rack on bench. Aye it's embarrassing but we've all done it.
I do it all the time and need rescuing.
If I think I'm not gonna make the rack, I normally start laughing at myself and lose all control, then can't stop laughing when I'm pinned down helpless.
Haven't done it in a while, but I'll be day 4 into a no carb diet when I do chest tomorrow, so am fearing the worst.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
Think it was my third set of 5. It wasn’t really the weight this time or the lack of strength from dieting as expected, I had poor form in my second last rep and jolted my arm a bit and it just gave in when I lowered the bar.
It’s no big deal as I go to the gym with my brother, but he spent about 5 minutes laughing before he lifted it off me. ****er.
