That's still great business by the club. But I don't think football clubs should be run as 'model businessess' though, as it's more complex than that. It's all about buying the right players.

That is true, but the simple fact is that their big star signings disrupted their team, and forced them to play a different system to the one which has helped them win the league the previous two seasons quite easily.

They blew their budget on areas of the team that didn't strengthening and then had terrible problems at the back and didn't buy a centre half to cover.

Sure mate. My point was just that we don't seem to be taking too many risks in the transfer market. The Torres transfer could easily be offset by selling Cisse, Bellers & Garcia and this surely means that we're being left behind because other clubs are doing business more efficiently, albeit at a greater risk.
