He can. He's obviously just choosing not to
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I have no problem with players looking after their own interests, so long as they are up front about it and state their intentions.

Unlike Frank Lampard! who found a round about way into City's money bank.

Embarrasing way for him to end his Liverpool career. If the rumours are true.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

TBF, he could easily just sit in the crowd for a year and collect a full pay packet and we'd be giving him grief then for showing no ambition.

He obviously wants to play though and possibly sees this as his best way out, so it's a compromise from both parties. At the end of the day it's still up to the club, they can say no, so I’m not sure why the player who has no doubt been told he’s not wanted is getting all the flak.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yup - same problem with Agger! It will be difficult to meet his demands at around 85000 a week. The link to Brøndby is hilarious btw as his yearly wage demand would almost surpass the annual turnover in Brøndby!

If we do let he walk then there needs to be a cast iron clause stating if he ends up at Napoli in the next season then he owes us a load of money.

Rather than lower his wage demands, he wants us to cancel his contract. What a ****.

'Negotiate' the cancelling of his contract is all I read. What the **** is wrong with that? Negotiation is mutual. Nothing Reina has said or done has made me lose much respect for him really.

maybe he should lower his wage demands then clubs would be able to pay him and give us a transfer fee, also why doesn't he put in a transfer request if he wants to go.
                      who's arsed?

Glad it isn't just me, keep wondering what others know that I don't.

                        What are his wage demands?

Surely it amounts to the same thing for us, we'd have to agree a settlement for the remainder of his contract, except the difference being for Pepe he'd have to wait on a club bidding if he's still under contract as opposed to speaking to any clubs he wants if he's not.

well i would say his wage demands are what he is on now.

Ok, say we assume that, who has bid for him but not wanted to meet these demands?

Plus, you know, it's not immoral for him to want the same wages. You can argue he'd have the wrong priorities IF we knew that were the case, but it's his life. We signed to pay him that much, if he wants out and so do we then it's up to both parties to agree on a solution. It might be convenient for us for him to **** off on terms entirely of our wishing but we have obligations to him just as he does to us.

Strikes me that if he wasn't after a bit of extra money then we'd be happy to just cancel the contract. I reckon he wants severance money, and if he does, he's a greedy *******
